En las últimas décadas el calentamiento global ha intensificado incendios que destruyeron enormes áreas boscosas en diversas partes del mundo. La Argentina no ha quedado exenta de esta problemática y el Chaco mucho menos. Por tanto, el presente artículo intenta dar una mirada geográfica a la temática de los incendios forestales producidos en nueve departamentos del este de esta provincia durante el período comprendido entre los años 2015 y 2020. A través del análisis estadístico y la georreferenciación de información de diferentes fuentes, el trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar los focos de incendio que se han registrado en el área de estudio antes descrita y en ese lapso de tiempo, y caracterizar la actual gestión provincial en materia de riesgos de incendios. La producción de cartografía se realizó a partir de la utilización de Qgis. La región analizada sufrió en 2020 una gran cantidad de focos ígneos en áreas rurales que afectaron a poco más de 60 000 hectáreas, destruyendo pastizales, bosques nativos e implantados y, en consecuencia, deteriorando los suelos, la fauna silvestre, y perjudicando también la cobertura de rastrojos y a la hacienda.
Como objetivo este trabajo, basado en la compulsa y síntesis de materiales impresos y de internet, pretende brindar a los alumnos de la carrera de Geografía conceptos introductorios referidos a la meteorización química, procesos que implica, tipos y formas resultantes. El primero hace referencia, de manera escueta e introductoria a los agentes y procesos que intervienen en el modelado de la superficie terrestre, ya desarrollados en publicaciones anteriores de esta revista (Geográfica Digital, Año 12. Nº 23. Enero-Junio 2015). El segundo, define la meteorización y caracteriza los factores que influyen en sus procesos. El tercero, se centra sobre la meteorización química, los agentes que intervienen y los procesos que se dan en la misma. El cuarto, se trabaja de forma detallada sobre los diferentes procesos de meteorización química, los agentes que intervienen y las formas resultantes. Finalmente, se realiza una breve caracterización de las formas resultantes de la meteorización química. El trabajo se organiza sobre cinco aspectos referidos al estudio de la dinámica de la "Meteorización" con especial énfasis en la meteorización química, los cuales se detallan a continuación: OBJETIVO DEL ARTÍCULO Con ello se pretende, por un lado, que se reconozcan y comprendan los procesos fundamentales que intervienen en la conformación de los componentes del sistema terrestre y las relaciones dinámicas que se establecen entre ellos, y por otro, que se identifiquen y entiendan las dimensiones temporales y espaciales propias de los hechos geológicos y geomorfológicos que caracterizan el espacio geográfico presente.
En este artículo se indagó sobre las transformaciones tanto en el ámbito forestal como agropecuario que han ocurrido en el este de la provincia de Salta, Argentina, (región conocida como Chaco Salteño) entre los años 2000 y 2021. A través de un método cuantitativo basado en la recopilación y análisis de datos, se evidenció que durante las últimas dos décadas existió un rápido avance de la frontera agropecuaria para la producción agrícola y ganadera empresarial, lo que devino en la ocupación de territorios que, hacia fines de siglo XX, todavía eran considerados marginales. Para efectuar gran parte de los cambios en el uso del suelo en dicho territorio, se incrementó la deforestación en importantes extensiones de tierras, lo que permitió entrever que el agronegocio capitalista se llevó adelante a expensas de la destrucción de gran parte del bosque nativo, ocasionando importantes transformaciones en el territorio a causa de un modelo productivista que originó concentración de la tierra y una tendencia a desarticular la agricultura familiar.
