Modelos mais comuns de previsão da carbonatação em concreto assumem que a cinética de ingresso do CO2 é função da raiz quadrada do tempo por uma constate de difusividade, sem levar em consideração modificações microestruturais de permeabilidade e de formação de sais na matriz porosa no qual desaceleram o processo, fazendo com que as modelagens existentes não representem de forma precisa o avanço da frente carbonatada. Com base em um programa experimental que inclui testes de profundidade de carbonatação em corpos de prova de concreto em condições de exposição natural durante os intervalos de 14, 28, 56 e 84 dias e análises dos termos das equações e de suas condições de contorno, o objetivo desse trabalho é propor um modelo de termo de difusividade capaz de ser empregado em equações existentes e que represente de forma satisfatória o fenômeno. Decorrente ao que foi proposto, é possível descrever que a cinética de penetração do CO2 pode ser escrita em função da permeabilidade, pressão do dióxido de carbono, área de contato e quantidade de sais de carbonato formados. O termo modelado apresentou variação máxima de 25% em relação aos dados reais obtidos, demonstrando boa representatividade para as condições na qual foi submetido.
