A cutia (Dasyprocta spp) é um roedor silvestre e encontra-se em condições críticas devido à ação antrópica e degradação do seu habitat natural. Com isso, o objetivo deste trabalho é identificar as principais interferências antrópicas no habitat das cutias na BR 307 em Benjamin Constant AM. Os dados foram obtidos a partir de buscas de evidências em campo, diretas ou indiretas. Os resultados obtidos pelas idas a campo comprovam a presença da espécie no local através das observações feitas e sua alimentação se dá por frutos que auxilia ecologicamente na manutenção das florestas por meio da dispersão. A ocorrência das cutias na plantação da maioria dos agricultores vem aumentando significativamente, pois há relatos de todos os dias a ocorrência das mesmas nos plantios em busca de alimentar-se de mandioca. Quanto ao destino que se tem tomado e que ainda se estabelecerá envolvendo esta espécie na área de estudo, elencamos como primordial ação, o estabelecimento de diálogo com os agricultores no sentido de melhorar as relações interespecíficas entre as duas espécies.
Benjamin Constant (BC), importante cidade do Alto Solimões, Estado do Amazonas, recebeu melhorias em sua infraestrutura urbana nos últimos anos, incluindo pavimentação de ruas e iluminação pública. Contudo, ainda há falta de uma rede adequada de tratamento de esgoto sanitário, assim como de um sistema eficiente de coleta seletiva de resíduos sólidos urbanos, especialmente os poliméricos, os quais têm elevado potencial poluidor associado a um longo tempo de degradação no meio ambiente. Esses materiais podem ser facilmente encontrados em igarapés e rios da região, afetando seus equilíbrios ecológicos. Nesse escopo, esse trabalho objetivou realizar a identificação e a caracterização de resíduos sólidos poliméricos descartados indevidamente em diferentes regiões no perímetro urbano de Benjamin Constant. Amostras desses materiais (objetos plásticos) foram coletadas em cinco regiões da cidade, incluindo ruas/avenidas, igarapés e área portuária. Os materiais foram classificados quanto ao tipo de polímero presente, conforme os códigos da norma ABNT/NBR 13.230/2018. Verificou-se uma grande quantidade e diversidade desses resíduos em diferentes áreas da cidade, contribuindo para a degradação do meio ambiente local. No resíduo separado e identificado, notou-se a predominância dos polímeros PET (15 a 28%), PS (19 a 23%), PP (15 a 35%) e PEAD (1 a 30%), a depender da região de investigação considerada. Observou-se também um percentual elevado (26 a 37%) de materiais não identificados com os códigos da norma utilizada. Conclui-se ser urgente a criação de políticas públicas de coleta seletiva, reciclagem, e desenvolvimento urbano sustentável em BC, além de trabalhar estratégias de educação ambiental junto à população.
