This article aims to show the possible savings in electricity costs in smart building installations with the use of new version of Raspberry Pi 3 model B + as the control unit in intelligent building automation systems. It presents a comparison of the consumption of electricity in two units used in the central control systems, i.e. a small Windows-based computer and a Raspberry microcomputer. The power consumption of these units was measured during the rest period and during standard operations in the intelligent installation system. The conducted measurements proved that the use of the new updated version of Raspberry Pi 3 model B + as the central control unit in intelligent building management systems is more economical and energy-saving.
Abstract. This article aims to show the possible energy savings in intelligent building installations due to the use of programmable mechanical multifunctional buttons. Two monostable buttons were placed, the pressing of which triggered the entire sequence of programmed actions and procedures. The consumption of electricity from the period before and after the assembly of the buttons was compared. The measured effects of using the buttons have shown that the energy consumption has decreased by approximately 7.5 kWh per month. The low installation costs and benefits resulting from the use of such a solution make it a cost-effective and a very convenient solution.
Abstract. The article presents the results of research on primary recycling properties of ceramic aggregates conducted following the procedures outlined in WT-1 2014 Aggregates − Technical Requirements. The material for the tests was obtained from a company producing sanitary ceramic products. Damaged ceramic products, coming from the factory waste heaps, were transported to the laboratory and crushed. This enabled producing aggregate that was later subjected to tests carried out on the aggregates commonly used in the production of mineral-asphalt mixes applied in making road surfaces. The factors that were examined include the following: the flow rate of fine aggregates (angularity of fine aggregate), fine particles content -methylene blue test, light-weight impurities content, frost resistance, bulk density of grains as well as water absorption determined by pycnometric method. The test results showed that the properties of the recycled aggregates are similar to those included in traditional aggregates used for the production of mineral-asphalt mixes. On the basis of the conducted analyses, the waste ceramic aggregate was recommended for use.
Subject and purpose of work: the purpose of this article is to present the opportunities for rural development and the benefits of participation in the Regional Operational Program of the Lublin Province for the years 2007-2013, as well as the estimation of the level of satisfaction of the inhabitants of the Rossosz Commune in the Bialski Poviat, Lublin Province, using renewable energy sources co-financed by EU funds. Materials and methods: this work was created with the use of author’s interview questionnaire as the basic research tool. The survey was carried out among the inhabitants of the Rossosz Commune. Results and conclusions: participation in the “Clean Energy in the Zielawy Valley” project contributed to the development of rural areas in the Biała Podlaska Poviat of the Lubelskie Province and it was a fundamental factor enabling the installation of devices using renewable energy. The research shows that the vast majority of respondents appreciated the benefits of renewable energy installations and many of them envisage to make use of the possibility of installing renewable energy devices in the near future.
