This paper seeks to contribute to continuing efforts to better understand and control the effects of urbanization on our environment and society by offering a thorough review of the most recent geodetic measuring techniques for build-up area growth. In this article, we give a case study from Uzbekistan that looks at current geodetic measuring techniques for expanding build-up areas. Uzbekistan is a fast urbanizing nation in Central Asia, and politicians and experts are both deeply concerned about the growth of the country's built-up regions. The case study, which offers a thorough investigation of the geodetic measuring methods and tools used to gauge and track the growth of the built environment, is focused on a particular metropolitan region in Uzbekistan. Therefore, this article gives a summary of current geodetic measurement methods, including remote sensing methods like LiDAR and satellite imaging as well as surveying methods like total station and GNSS. The case study also emphasizes some of the difficulties and restrictions related to these methods, such as the requirement for precise geodetic control points and the inadequacies of satellite imaging in regions with thick vegetation or cloud cover.
Water is one of the most important natural resources flow though watersheds. It is expected that within next decade at least 36 states in the US experience water shortages. Preserving and proper management of water and watershed resources is crucial. The objective of this study is to develop SWAT model along with compatible hydrologic programs and calibrate the model to predict the volume and discharge of flow in watershed outlets. Model uses 5 distinct years of land use/cover and weather data to analyse the change in hydrologic processes within thze watershed of Snoqualmie watershed of King county in Washington state. Model shows significant improved predictions for the selected period of time but some certain assumptions suggest the model needs further improvements. Results indicate that land use change and use dynamics have an impact to the watershed flow in Snoqualmie watershed. Results of this study can be used by implementing agencies to manage water and watershed resources in the King county, WA area.
In this study both data of land use and land cover were compared for selected period of time it is obvious that urban area is significantly increased in Saline River watershed, Arkansas, USA. For hydrologic studies and analysis WMS 8.1 program was used to delineate the watershed and analysis of other hydrologic processes. For further analysis, HEC-HMS was used to analyze the results of hydrographs of peak flows. Results show there is impact to hydrologic processes due to urbanization.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
