The solid state track detector of celluloid films (cellulose nitrate+camphor 25% an weight) using etching technique is suitable for low energy alpha particle detection. The critical rate of energy loss for track formation in celluloid films is determined as 1 .3 MeV/mg•Ecm2. Irradiated samples are etched in NaOH (6 N) solution at 46•Ž for 10 minutes. The etched tracks are observed under a view of optical microscope at magnification of 7•~20•`7•~40. Under vacuum condition of 10-3 Torr or at low temperature of-26•Ž no changes are observed in track formation. The feature of track fading phenomena is different in hot water and air circumstances.
609Large hexadecapole transition strengths to the y·vibrational bands recently observed in even· even rare·earth nuclei are investigated microscopically. It is revealed that the property of the matrix elements of the hexadecapole operator and the subshell structure of the Nilsson single· particle Hamiltonian determine the characteristic (N, Z)·dependence of the hexadecapole strengths. The effects of the hexadecapole correlation are analysed in detail. § 2. RPA with doubly-stretched multipole-multipole interactionsWe describe the intrinsic r-vibration by means of the random phase approximation (RP A). We adopt a model Hamiltonian which contains minimal ingredients at
We report the postgrowth annealing effects on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of a lowtemperature grown β-phase MoO 3 film on a c-plane sapphire substrate by molecular beam epitaxy. By employing the postgrowth annealing at 600°C in an oxygen atmosphere, the film was completely transformed from β-phase to thermodynamically stable α-phase. On the other hand, oxygen deficient MoO 3-x domains were introduced into the film by the annealing at the same temperature in a nitrogen atmosphere. The latter film exhibited a high absorbance in a visible region accompanied by a decrease in resistivity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
