Suprarenal aortic cross-clamp without performing renal hypothermia is safe and able to be tolerated well by the patient during elective AAA surgery, although careful attention must be paid to limiting the period of renal ischemia.
Our results indicate that primary stent placement is a safe and effective treatment for iliac CTOs. However, major complications, including distal embolization and iliac artery rupture, remain a significant problem, and caution should therefore be exercised when performing this technique for iliac CTOs.
