Abstract|We present a precise mode-matching method for characterizing an H-plane Y-junction with an arbitrary angle in rectangular waveguides. This entails dividing the discontinuous section into ®ared and cylindrical sectors, thereby creating regions in which it is possible to locally separate the variables. The electromagnetic elds of the cylindrical coordinate system displayed in these regions and those in the continuous section are matched within hypothetical boundaries. We use those solutions to numerically assess the scattering characteristics of the dominant and higher-order modes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
