Es conocido que los docentes de institutos y universidades, por su formación profesional no tienen alineado un perfil educativo y la práctica pedagógica la realizan aplicando algunos modelos o enfoques de manera consciente o inconsciente, es por ello que, la identificación de aquellos modelos es prioritario para la toma de decisiones institucionales, con este antecedente, se plantea el objetivo, determinar los enfoques pedagógicos en la cotidianidad en el Instituto Tecnológico Superior Luis A. Martínez de la ciudad de Ambato, provincia de Tungurahua. Trata de una investigación cuantitativa de carácter descriptivo y corte transversal, no experimental; cuya población la constituyen un total de 35 profesores. El instrumento de análisis constituyó el cuestionario utilizado en la recolección de datos el cual estuvo conformado por 40 interrogantes que pertenece al autor Julián de Zubiría de la Fundación Universitaria Luis Amigó diseñado en 2009 el cual, sirve para identificar las prácticas educativas de un determinado modelo pedagógico, con ello, se analizó la presencia de cuatro modelos pedagógicos: tradicionalista, conductista, desarrollista y social, en correspondencia con las variables género y carreras de la institución. Los principales resultados demuestran una combinación de los modelos pedagógicos en la práctica docente, lo cual, promueve la generación de estrategias metodológicas para la mejora en su aplicación.
