PurposeThe concept of employee-based brand equity (EBBE) has been the center of scholars' attention in the field of marketing and brand management. The brand is one of the most valuable intangible assets of any organization. This research is a novel step in examining the brand-specific transactional leadership role in implementing the new approach of brand-building behaviors (BBBs) and EBBE.Design/methodology/approachThe statistical population of the current study is employees of five major insurance companies in Semnan city of Iran. Using the classified random sampling method, 136 employees of these insurance firms were chosen. Likert-based questionnaires were used to collect data. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to analyze research data.FindingsFindings show that brand-specific transactional leadership affects participation and retention positively and significantly. Also, the variables of participation, in-role brand-building behavior (IRBBB) and retention, have a positive and significant effect on the EBBE. However, no significant relationship has been found between brand-specific transactional leadership and the IRBBB.Research limitations/implicationsThe study was bound by access to firms and managers' availability. On the other hand, this research is a cross-sectional study, and its data have been collected in a certain period of time, while longitudinal research can provide a richer result. Future research can benefit from the impact of brand-specific transactional leadership and brand evangelism.Practical implicationsWhen selecting brand leaders, manager training programs need to evaluate whether a candidate has brand-specific transactional leadership traits that will enhance the successful internalization of brand values and improve EBBE.Originality/valueBrand-specific transactional leadership increases employee responsibility and a greater desire to engage in citizenship behaviors. In addition, using partnerships to influence customer supportive behaviors creates a good image of the company and its services in the minds of customers. Also, this research is a novel step in examining the brand-specific transactional leadership role in implementing the new approach of BBBs and EBBE.
Background and Objectives: The progress and rebound of organizations depends on their productivity. Many factors affect the organization's productivity; identifying these factors the organization's deterrence can be prevented. In this study, the relationship between job burnout and employee productivity has been investigated. Methods: This research is applied and its statistical population is 1265 people in Shariati and Kharazi hospitals. 294 of these employees were selected by Convenience sampling method considering the Cochran formula. Data was collected using the Maslach Burnout Standard Questionnaire and Hersey and Goldsmith Human Resources productivity Standard Questionnaire. Pearson correlation test and SPSS18 was used to analyze the data. Results: The results of data analysis showed that burnout, emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment with-0.82,-0.86,-0.83 and-0.85 correlation values, respectively, have a reverse and meaningful relationship with employee productivity of Shariati and kharazmi Hospitals employees. Conclusion: Since the results showed that burnout and its dimensions have a significant relationship with productivity of Shariati and Kharazmi Hospitals in Isfahan, it is necessary for organizations to apply measures to reduce the feeling of burnout in the staff. The results of this study are consistent with the results of other studies. At the end of the study, were presented several research proposals based on the results of the study.
Background and Objective: Multifidus muscle which is one of the paraspinal muscles plays a key role in strengthening the spine and acts as inhibitory feedback in pain control. The present study aimed to evaluate the rate of multifidus muscle atrophy in Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) images of patients with spinal pain. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 600 MRI images of patients with spinal pain (patients complaining of pain during clinical examination) referring to Besat Hospital of Hamadan within 2017-2018 were selected by census method and evaluated for multifidus muscle atrophy based on its related variables. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 16) at 95% confidence level. Results: The mean age of patients was reported as 46.16 years. In terms of gender, 46.5% of cases were male and 53.5% were female. The frequency of multifidus muscle atrophy was measured at 63.5% out of which 38.6%, 43.6%, and 17.8% were reported as grades one, two, and third, respectively. As evidenced by the obtained results, multifidus muscle atrophy and its degree showed a significant correlation with such variables as age, sex, body mass index(MBI), intense physical activity, duration of daily activities, duration and symmetry of pain (P<0.05). Conclusion:The frequency of atrophy of multifidus muscle was reported to be high in the patients under study. Female gender, old age, high BMI, intense physical activity, duration of daily activities, duration of spinal pain and two-sided pain were recognized as independent variables associated with multifidus muscle atrophy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
