This paper discusses the floorplanning of rectangular cells. We present a new global approach t hat simultaneously accounts for different design goals. Key of the approach is a more general slicing structure representation of the floorplan that is not restricted to a special case of rectangular dissection and a twodimesional partitioning procedure. We present a new model for the prediction of the associated shape functions and describe an analytic optimization technique for the pin allocation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
