Manufacturers need to devise a means of producing leaflets which are easier to read. This is all the more urgent given the trend to down-regulate more potent medicines for non-prescription sale.
Objective: Rural psychiatrists responsible for inpatient psychiatry units in general hospitals often have trouble getting coverage for training, vacations, and periods of illness.
A review of the structure of the hip joint as related to its stability is presented. The forces exerted at the hip and along the proximal end of the femur are discussed in relation to the anatomical position of bone and to normal stresses incurred during standing and gait. Clinical considerations of selected hip abnormalities include a review of changes in normal mechanical forces found in coxa valga, coxa vava, arthritis, and fracture.
Collaboration between bedside and remote nurses in conjunction with the use of tele-ICU program technology positively impacts critical care patient outcomes. Effective nursing collaboration and communication and improved patient outcomes can be attained through nursing vigilance and attention to best practices or health system protocols and the use of smart technology such as the population management tools in the tele-ICU program.
This study undertook to investigate pathways and connections of optic tract fibers in the pulvinar, hypothalamus, ventral lateral geniculate, pretectal region and superior colliculus.Thirty-five adult cats were utilized -28 experimental subjects and seven controls. The right eye was removed and the cats allowed to survive for periods from three to 61 days. The chief method of investigation was the silver impregnation technique of Nauta-Gygax ('54), supplemented by Marchi and luxol-blue cresyl-fastviolet methods.Study of fiber patterns of degeneration in serial sections of the Nauta-Gygax preparations revealed no prcterminal axonal degeneration in the hypothalamus or pulvinar. Portions of a completely crossed accessory optic tract as described by Hayhow ('59) were identified. Preterminal degeneration of fine collaterals of the larger optic fibers was found in the dorsal one-third of the lateral portion of the ventral lateral geniculate. Large areas of preterminal degeneration and many fibers of passage were observed in the pretectal region. Localized areas of preterminal degeneration in this region were interpreted as belonging to the pretectal nucleus and to the nucleus of the optic tract. A large number of fine optic fibers was found terminating in the superficial stratum opticum of the superior colliculus. Two areas of preterminal degeneration lateral to the colliculus were interpreted as extension of the pretectal nucleus and as the nucleus olivaris colliculi.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
