Objective: To assess health-related quality of life after stroke and associate this event with the characteristics of people who suffered a stroke. Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted at a rehabilitation center for stroke survivors with 104 patients. The Mini-mental state examination (MMSE); an instrument for collection of sociodemographic, economic, clinical, and family related information; and the Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale were applied. Results: Of the 104 people investigated, 77 did not have cognitive deficit and answered the instruments. Their mean at the MMSE was 24.9 (±4.3). 51.9% were men and their mean age was 57.3 (±17.2) years. Most of them were married (48.1%) and had eight or more years of schooling (50.7%). Their health-related quality of life was affected (146.8±36.3), mainly in the social and family relations domains. Conclusion: An impairment in the health-related quality of life and negative consequences of the stroke were observed, together with dyslipidemia, left-side hemiplegia, and speech difficulty. ResumoObjetivo: Avaliar a qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde de pessoas após acidente vascular cerebral e associar esse evento às características desses indivíduos. Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado em centro de reabilitação com pessoas sobreviventes de acidente vascular cerebral com 104 pacientes. Foram aplicados Miniexame do Estado Mental; instrumento para coleta de informações sociodemográficas, econômicas, do arranjo familiar e clínicas; e Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale. Resultados: Das 104 pessoas investigadas, 77 não apresentaram défice cognitivo e responderam aos instrumentos. A média no Miniexame do Estado Mental foi 24,9 (±4,3); 51,9% eram homens, a média da idade foi 57,3(±17,2) anos, a maioria era casada (48,1%), com 8 anos ou mais de estudo (50,7%). A qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde foi afetada (146,8±36,3), principalmente nos domínios relações sociais e familiares. Conclusão: Evidenciaram-se comprometimento da qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde e consequências negativas da doença, associadas à escolaridade, dislipidemia, hemiplegia esquerda e dificuldade de fala.
ABSTRACT ABSTRACTThis quantitative study is to collect data of the knowledge of nurses about the Service for Assistance to women victims of sexual violence (SAMVVIS), in a public maternity hospital in Teresina, PI. Data was collected in February and March of 2008 from 61 nurses. The results show that the majority are aware of the service (90.14%) but the affirmative percentage decreases when asked about how it functions (80.33%, what its objectives are (72.13%), the role of the nurse (44.26%) and the proposal of the organization (40.98%). It follows that there is a need for the diffusion of the service, especially in the aspect of its objectives, the proposal of the organization and the role of the nurse along with national political attention for the women who are victims of sexual violence. La recolección se dio en febrero y marzo de 2008, con 61 enfermeras(os). Los resultados apuntan que la mayoría conoce el servicio (90,14%), pero los porcentajes afirmativos van disminuyendo a la medida que responden cómo funcionan (80,33%), cuáles sus objetivos (72,13%), el papel del enfermero (44,26%) y la propuesta de organización (40,98%). Se concluye la necesidad de divulgación del servicio, especialmente en los aspectos de los objetivos, de la propuesta de organización y del papel del enfermero, así como de la política nacional de atención a las mujeres víctimas de violencia sexual.
Objetivo:Investigar os domínios da qualidade de vida mais afetados em sobreviventes de acidente vascular cerebral de acordo com instrumentos específicos de avaliação. Métodos: Trata-se de revisão integrativa nas bases MEDLINE, Lilacs e Cinahl, nas quais foram selecionados sete artigos. Resultados: Os artigos foram agrupados conforme a escala utilizada: na Stroke Impact Scale, os domínios mais afetados foram função física, participação social, emoção. Na Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale, foram trabalho/produtividade, relações familiares e sociais, modo de pensar, energia, linguagem.Nohealth-related quality of life in stroke patients questionnaire, foram interação ecossocial, intelectual, físico.Conclusão: A qualidade de vida de sobreviventes é prejudicada de forma global e multifacetada. Há necessidade de ampliar as pesquisas com instrumentos específicos de medida, pois estes avaliam domínios de especial interesse, demonstrando um perfil integral das condições funcionais e psicossociais dos sobreviventes, e assim, contribuindo para melhoria da atenção à sua saúde.
