The paper´s objective is to analyse a certain influence of using creative potential of employees on the innovation processes management in the transportationlogistics companies. An important part is the presentation of partial results of a survey (conducted between 2013 and 2016) regarding particular development of orientation towards the level of motivation and support of employee creativity in Slovak companies with over 50 employees. These results revealed significant deficiencies in the employees' motivation to be creative and in the extent of their involvement in innovations. In the process of creating an appropriate environment, a particular point evaluation is then provided recognizing the actual level of the organizations' orientation towards the discussed issue. In order to identify certain barriers to improve the innovation processes, a case study was also used to classify the current state of the three selected transportation-logistics companies operating in the Slovak Republic.
The paper deals with the issue of greenhouse gas emissions that are produced by the road freight transport sector. These emissions affect the structure of the ozone layer and contribute to the greenhouse effect that causes global warming-issues that are closely associated with changing weather patterns and extreme weather events. Attention is drawn to the contradictions linked to FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) biofuels, namely the fact that although their use generates almost zero greenhouse gas emissions, their production requires high levels of energy consumption. The first part of the paper deals with the theoretical basis of the negative impacts of transport on the environment and the subsequent measurement of the extent of the harmful emissions generated by the road freight transport sector. In the methodical part of the paper, the calculation procedures and declared energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions generated by transport services are analyzed according to the EN 16258 standard. The experimental part of the paper focuses on the application of the methodology to a specific shipment on a specified transport route, where the total energy consumption and production of greenhouse gas emissions is determined. These calculations are based on comprehensive studies carried out for a particular transport company that assigned the authors the task of determining to what extent the declared energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions change when the type of fuel used is changed.
The paper focuses on the optimization of production logistics within the selected company, which is going to relocate the machining centre to the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper was to design a suitable conveyor to optimize the machining centre's entire production process. On the basis of the company's input requirements, the necessary calculations were carried out, which led to the construction of the conveyor model. Proposing the model was preceded by selecting a suitable conveyor which will be used in production.
The pressure to the environment protection within the concept of sustainable development and many national initiatives is constantly rising. This is also reflected in the field of transport. Currently, the issue of electro mobility is often discussed. Acquisition of eco-friendly cars or electric buses has the potential for improving the environment and greenhouse gas production situation. However, the acquisition cost and the operating costs of the electric vehicles generate a certain cost structure that is different compared to the diesel vehicles. The amount of state aid as well as possibility of such aid for purchasing electric bus still remains uncertain. The aim of this paper is to highlight the possibility of using life cycle cost analysis to quantify the support for the acquisition of electric buses against diesel buses with respect to the different structure of costs and the time value of money. This difference was set at the level Difference set to 22%, which is a required level for the co-financing from the government, self-governance or EU structural funds. In monetary terms, that means the amount of 132 000 € for an electric bus.
Abstract. The article deals with logistics processes in companies. Logistics aims to optimize material, finance and information flows to optimize overall costs in companies. The first part of the article describes the methods by means of which the processes in companies can be optimized, namely the Vogel approximation method. In the second part of the article, the method is implemented in a particular manufacturing company with the result of distribution route optimization and reduction of operating costs of transport.
