EMG des M. sphincter ani externus 156 coloproctology 28 · 2006 · Nr. 3 SummaryBackground and Purpose: In proctology electromyography of the external anal sphincter is done using surface electrodes. Concentric needle electrodes are rarely taken, despite of the fact that only those meet the requirements of a quantifying assessment of damage to the external anal sphincter muscle. For quantitative assessment single motor unit potentials have to be measured and analysed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
