Kabelgewirr, das die Kommunikation aller mit allen und die Reaktion und Interaktion mit jedem noch so kleinen zufälligen Ereignis ermöglichen sollte. Wolfe beschreibt das System und einige damit entwickelte transaktionale Praktiken wie folgt: 28 »[Sandy] bastelte eine Anlage zusammen, mit der sie von innerhalb des Busses nach außen senden konnten, sowohl Bänder, als auch das, was sie direkt in die Mikrofone sprachen, und was auch immer es war, es wurde mit mächtig vielen Watt über Lautsprecher vom Dach des Busses nach draußen geblasen. Aber es gab auch Mikrofone außen am Bus, die während der Fahrt Geräusche aufschnappten und sie ins Innere des Busses übertrugen. […] Schließlich hatte man noch die Möglichkeit, seine eigene Stimme über eine Bandmaschine laufen zu lassen, sodass man etwas sagen und dann die eigene Stimme mit einer, oder je nachdem, wie man es einstellte, mehreren Sekunden Verzögerung hören konnte, und auf diese Weise konnte man, wenn man Lust hatte, auf seine eigenen Worte rappen. Oder man setzte sich Kopfhörer auf und rappte gleichzeitig auf Geräusche von außen, die zum einen Ohr hereinkamen, und auf Worte von innerhalb des Busses und seine eigenen Sounds, die man übers andere Ohr hörte. Es sollte auf diesem Trip kein einziges gottverdammtes Tönchen geben, außerhalb, innerhalb des Busses oder aus dem eigenen […] Kehlkopf, auf den sich nicht einsteigen, der sich nicht kommentieren ließ. […] Jetzt konnten sie es sich erlauben, vor das Angesicht Amerikas zu treten, und den Leuten so einen richtigen Kurzschluss verpassen.« 29 Dieser Kurzschluss sollte -ganz wie das neurophysiologische Modell des Reflexbogens -einer von Innen und Außen sein: dem Innen des Busses mit dem Außen seiner Umgebung, dem Innen spontaner Einfälle und Gedanken mit dem Außen ihrer unverstellten und mithin konfrontativen Äußerung, dem Innen des Pranksters-Kreises mit dem Außen der konformistischen Gesellschaft. Diesem Kurzschluss sollte sich niemand entziehen können, er sollte möglichst alle in das Spiel der Pranksters hineinziehen und infizieren. Und so erweiterten sie ihr mediales Setup auf ihren Happenings zu multimedialen Spektakeln mit zusätzlichen Kameras, Projektionen, Lichteffekten, Stroboskopen und der psychedelischen Live-Musik der legendären Grateful Dead mit ihrem exorbitanten Maschinen-und Verstärker-Park. 30 Auf diese Weise sollte das auf möglichst vielen Sinneskanälen angerufene Selbst selbst zum Teil einer universalen Feedback-Schleife werden, die ganz im Sinn der Kybernetik quer durch alle involvierten Maschinen, Menschen und sonstige Ereignisse läuft.
Der soziale, kulturelle und politische Prozess der Digitalisierung hat neue Gemeinschafts- und Bildungsformen denkbar werden lassen, die u.a. durch drei Szenen entscheidend geprägt wurden: die kybernetisch-künstlerischen Hintergründe der PC-Kultur als Basis des Silicon Valley, die Popularisierung des Internets in den 1990er Jahren und aktuelle Entwicklungen, die unter dem Begriff des digitalen Nomadentums gefasst werden. Martin Donner und Heidrun Allert fragen vor dem Hintergrund der damit verbundenen Verschiebungen der Gemeinschaftsverständnisse nach praxistauglichen Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten der digitalen Gesellschaft.
Der Text fragt im Sinne subjektivationstheoretischer Ansätze nach den Lücken, die das kybernetische Dispositiv dem Selbst eröffnet. Dazu werden zuerst die Grundlagen dieses Dispositiv erörtert. Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf das kybernetische Selbstkonzept und entsprechende Lernverständnisse gelegt. Im Rahmen dessen werden zwei wissenschaftliche Idiome vorgestellt, die mit der Kybernetik verbunden sind, ein repräsentationales und ein performatives. Veranschaulicht wird dies schließlich an den künstlerisch-ästhetischen Medienpraktiken von Ken Kesey (Einer flog über das Kuckucksnest) und der Aktionskunst-Gruppe Merry Pranksters, die aus der spielerischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem kybernetischen Dispositiv emergieren und als prototypische Anordnungen heutiger Multimedia-Kulturen verstanden werden können. Es stellt sich die Frage, welches der beiden Idiome (medien-)pädagogischen Kontexten in normativer Hinsicht eher angemessen ist.
Im Rahmen von Digitalisierung und ubiquitous computing kommt dem Thema Design eine zentrale Rolle zu. Vor dem Hintergrund von Lucius Burckhardts Idee eines unsichtbaren ‹Soziodesigns› schlägt der Text vor, sich dem Thema zunehmend ubiquitärer Interfaces in pragmatischer Hinsicht über die Gestenrepertoires zu nähern, die mit ihnen realisiert werden, und in denen – so die These – das Unsichtbare des Designs sichtbar wird. Dabei eröffnet der von Rancière entlehnte Begriff des ‹Sinnlichkeitsregimes› eine fruchtbare Perspektive auf eine Ebene nichtsprachlicher Körperpolitik. Illustriert werden diese Zusammenhänge anhand eines kurzen exemplarischen Einblicks in zwei Fälle des BMBF-Verbundprojekts Musikalische Interface-Designs: Augmentierte Kreativität und Konnektivität. Vor dem Hintergrund der dargelegten Perspektive wird schliesslich erläutert, wie eine integrative Kulturelle Bildung dazu beitragen könnte, digitale Souveränität zu fördern.
