Marluce Ribeiro de Mendonça 2 RESUMO Neste estudo, que teve o objetivo de caracterizar os pescadores ornamentais da região de Tefé, foram realizados levantamentos documentais a partir do monitoramento de embarque de peixes ornamentais no porto de Tefé, desempenhado pelo Instituto Mamirauá, e a partir da documentação pertinente emitida pelo IBAMA na gerência local. Foram também realizadas entrevistas estruturadas com pescadores pertencentes a quatro dos dez grupos de produtores identificados na região, abarcado aproximadamente 35 famílias diretamente ligadas à atividade. São descritas características do perfil do pescador ornamental típico da região de Tefé, como sua procedência, estado civil, idade, formas de aprendizado do ofício e relações com a Colônia de Pesca local (Z4). São também analisadas as formas de organização dos grupos de produtores e de partilha dos lucros, onde se identifica a importância das relações familiares sobre as formas de produção e a divisão de benefícios. Finalmente são descritas as principais variações desta modalidade de pesca, as espécies mais visadas e a metodologia de pesca para cada uma delas. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Pescadores; Pesca; Peixes Ornamentais; Tefé, AM ABSTRACT In order to characterize the fishermen of ornamental fish from the region of Tefé, the records of the monitoring program of shipments of ornamental fish from Tefé port were used. The permits issued by the local IBAMA office were also consulted in this survey. After which, representatives of four, out of ten ornamental fishermen groups were interviewed, encompassing 35 families directly involved in the activity at the area. Here the typical ornamental fisherman from Tefé region is described his its main aspects, such as origin, civil status, age, how he learned his skills and how he relates with the formal association of fishermen in the region, the "Colônia de Pesca de Tefé" (Z4). It is also analised the forms of social organization for the activity and the sharing of profits, where the importance of family relations are described and emphasized. Finally the most important variations of this type of fisheries are described, with their methodologies and the most important ornamental fish species targeted.
ResumoNeste artigo analisam-se aspectos relativos às perspectivas e à participação de atores em processos suscitados pelos desafios do uso social e da conservação dos recursos naturais em áreas protegidas na Amazônia Brasileira. No âmbito de um processo de territorialização, observa-se, particularmente, a implantação de um projeto de alternativa econômica na Reserva de Desenvolvimento Sustentável Amanã, Unidade de Conservação localizada no Estado do Amazonas. Como são percebidas e como e em que condições participam grupos sociais -populações tradicionais, pesquisadores e intervencionistas -informados na ideia de desenvolvimento sustentável, em um contexto de ambientalização, compõem aqui a questão, o desafio, remetendo tanto para a crença quanto para as reticências à promessa do Desenvolvimento. AbstractIn this article we analyze aspects related to perspectives and participation of actors in processes posed by challenges of social use and conservation of natural resources in protected areas in the Brazilian Amazon. Under a process of territorialization, there is particularly the implementation of an economic alternative project in Amanã Sustainable Development Reserve, Conservation Unit located at Amazonas state. How they are perceived and how and under what conditions social groups participate -traditional people, researchers and interventionists -informed on the idea of sustainable development, in a context of environmental awareness, make the issue here, the challenge, referring both to the belief as to question the promise of development.
