The results of research conducted at UPT SDN 68 Gresik showed that students' reading comprehension was very minimal. This was proven at the beginning of learning Indonesian regarding story texts, there were still many students who did not understand the contents of the story. The focus of the problem is that students' reading comprehension skills are still low. With regard to reading skills, the CIRC model is very suitable for use in learning materials about the content of story texts. This study aims to improve reading comprehension skills with research subjects, namely class IV students totaling 19 people consisting of 9 female students and 10 male students. Students' reading comprehension skills obtained data that the highest score is 98 and the lowest score is 0. The average score obtained on students' reading skills is 65.8 which can be categorized as good. The results showed that the students were quite capable of reading folklore texts, but were still lacking in mastering the intonation and pronunciation style of words in reading folklore text
