In today’s highly competitive environment, the goal of organizations is to recruit, retain and sufficiently stimulate employees to give high quality performance, which may actually be achieved by a well‑developed system of remuneration and a wide range of suitably selected employee benefits. The article aims to identify and evaluate important factors influencing the area of employee remuneration and benefits offered in organizations in the Czech Republic. The research was carried out through a questionnaire survey that involved selected organizations in the Czech Republic (n = 402). The obtained primary data were processed using descriptive and multidimensional statistics. The factors examined in relation to the employee remuneration and benefits include: industries and sectors of organizations; markets in which they operate; the size of organizations by the headcount; the existence or absence of the Human Resource Department. The results confirm that the organizations that want to maintain a good position in the labour market pay attention to their personnel marketing, which is also helped by the right (suitable) system of employee remuneration and fringe benefits thanks to which they retain their employees and can increase employee satisfaction and loyalty. Employee benefits are exactly what may distinguish the organizations from their competitors in the labour market.
This paper is a case study on the influence of students working during their studies and its impacts on their employability after graduation. Data for this research were collected at a private business university in Prague, the Czech Republic. The aim of the paper is to identify approaches of business university graduates to employment during their study and to evaluate the role of students' employment in their future career. A partial aim is to evaluate relations between student employment and future job position. The data were obtained through primary research: a questionnaire survey, two in-depth interviews and four focus groups. The results show that practical training during studies does affect applicability of study results, but graduates are not promoted immediately after their university graduation regardless of their gender. The only disadvantages mentioned regarded demands on time. In the qualitative research, graduates most often reported demands on family support, time, problem coping and necessity of such behaviour.
The article deals with the evaluation of university graduates’ attitudes towards job characteristics based on their generation. Research shows that the attitudes of individuals in the labor market are currently changing. However, the question is to what extent this change is related to the entry of a new generation or to what extent generational affiliation plays a role in the different attitudes of individuals in the labor market. Therefore, the aim is to test the proposition whether the age of a graduate, respectively his / her affiliation to the generation X, Y or Z affects attitudes towards job characteristics. The partial goal of the article is to identify the main attitudes of searched generations to employment, the second partial goal is to identify attitudes to the evaluation of the benefits of university study in relation to employment. This paper evaluates data from the case study of a selected business university. The return rate of primary survey was representative for the graduates of the case university. The results obtained were statistically tested. Analysis of differences between age and selected factors was used. The analysis showed statistically significant differences between members of generation X, Y and Z in all investigated factors.
Adequate level of social competencies after university graduation is necessary for today’s competitive environment. This study aims to identify and present most important social competencies based on perceptions of students and graduates of case business university. The data were collected by questionnaire survey of graduates in 2017–2018. Two dimensional statistical methods were used to evaluate the results. Examination of graduates leads to identification of factors affecting preferences in higher education to fill expectation of current society and labor market. Specific factors impacting evaluation of business education and its development are discussed. The results show current approaches towards social competency development. Limit of the study is a narrow focus on one private business university. It may be taken as case study and a base for further research and benchmarking between universities.
Currently, the significance of digital technologies is growing; they are becoming a normal part of human life. Their importance grows mainly in the context of other generations entering schools or the labour market. They are members of Generation Y and mainly Generation Z, whose life is already fully linked to virtual reality, social networks and information technology. E-Learning and its various modifications are one of the applied forms of education. This paper aims to describe the potential, but also the limits of education in the form of e-learning in the context of the development of the society, technological and content requirements on the educational activities as perceived by generation Y and generation Z. Content analysis of scientific resources and researches was the starting point for our work. The paper describes e-learning, its positive and negative aspects and contrasts them with the characteristics of the generations Y and Z. It can be concluded that e-learning has its application in school, extra‑curricular as well as lifelong learning.
This article focuses on the perception of crisis management of case business university due to the shift from in-person learning to online or distance form based on COVID-19 and suggestions to improve university branding and competitiveness. Results are based on interviewing students enrolled at business courses during the coronavirus crisis. The aim is to identify successful crisis management practices of a university based on key factors drawn from students’ feedback to ensure smooth shift to online education while maintaining efficiency and reputation. Students reactions were analysed to construct factors leading to successfully manage university’s value though non-standard period. Students reflection on their experiences brings factors crucial to manage unexpected situation, i.e.: personalized communication, openness of school staff, fast reactions, alternative study possibilities, management of social impact, and alternative exams.
