The United States Environmental Agency pointed out that an amount of 15 mg of lead per litter represents a high risk which causes brain and central nervous system damages. In some plain fields of Bogota, high concentrations of lead have been found, showing high rates over world estimations. This research reveals the existence of lead fragments which can be used in the feeding chain, having a potential ecological risk for the development of flora and fauna, especially in part of the human population which consumes agricultural products grown in these soils.
