Na área da saúde quando um paciente é internado, dentre as dificuldades enfrentadas destacam-se as condições fornecidas para que ele usufrua da melhor situação durante a permanência no hospital, para sua recuperação. Suas condições fisiológicas e sua idade são consideradas fatores de risco para o desencadeamento de outros diagnósticos, diferentes do motivo da sua internação, como, UPP (úlceras por pressão) e UV (úlcera varicosa). Elas são lesões de pele ou de partes moles, que se originam de isquemia tecidual prolongada, em especial em tecidos localizados em sobreposição de uma proeminência óssea. As lesões ocorrem quando não se realiza a devida mudança de decúbito do cliente, e ele permanece um longo período na mesma posição, com maior propensão em pacientes acamados. Alguns fatores favorecem o desenvolvimento das úlceras como: idade avançada, fricção, traumatismos, desnutrição, umidade excessiva, edema entre outros. UPP constitui um sério problema de saúde pública, em função do grande número de pessoas acometidas, por necessitarem de cuidados em saúde. O tempo para o processo de cicatrização é longo, gera custos altos para os pacientes e familiares, e, em alguns casos, a pessoa pode apresentar mais de uma úlcera. A realidade, na sociedade, é que muito dos pacientes que sofrem essas lesões não têm condições financeiras para acessar os melhores curativos para o seu tratamento; levando, assim, mais tempo para a cicatrização, bem como o acréscimo de custo que terão nesse período. Neste sentido, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo reunir dados e informações que contribuam para a compreensão da assistência de enfermagem ao portador de úlcera venosa dentro da Atenção Primária da Saúde, por meio de uma de educação continuada com os profissionais. Visa ressaltar a importância de uma avaliação e utilização correta de coberturas para as úlceras venosas; orientação aos clientes, a fim de salientar a importância do cuidado com a lesão, apoiada em uma revisão bibliográfica. Os resultados apontaram que os profissionais precisam receber educação continuada, para utilizar no campo. Conscientizarem-se da importância de orientar os clientes adequadamente, para contribuir no tratamento das feridas e facilitar o acesso no atendimento dos clientes, a fim de reduzir o tempo de espera, e obter o processo cicatricial desejado.
