Résumé Cet article étudie les origines, le contexte et les caractéristiques d’un processus d’endoctrinement. La politique menée par l’État argentin pendant les années 1976-1983 a entraîné l’implication du personnel militaire et des forces de sécurité dans des situations contraires aux droits de l’Homme. La formation qu’avait reçue ces hommes dans les casernes et les écoles militaires au cours des années précédentes a fait de ces crimes contre l’humanité des épisodes d’une « guerre révolutionnaire » subie par l’Argentine. Cet endoctrinement a transformé des professionnels de la guerre et de la sécurité en des croisés modernes, convaincus que les crimes commis contre ces « subversifs » étaient des bienfaits réalisés « au nom de Dieu et la Patrie ». Des éléments appartenant au catholicisme intransigeant et à l’extrême droite ont mené à bien cet endoctrinement, dont « l’accent français » était très marqué. D’une part, par l’introduction dans le milieu militaire argentin de la doctrine de la guerre révolutionnaire française, devenue dominante sur le plan stratégique et doctrinaire pour les forces armées et les forces de sécurité argentines. D’autre part, par l’action développée par certains groupes laïcs et religieux d’origine française implantés en Argentine, qui ont participé activement à ce travail d’endoctrinement.
