RESUMO: Este artigo objetiva discutir o gaydar enquanto exercício de poder, tomando como base o conceito de dispositivo por Foucault (2014) e Agamben (2005). Não parto da premissa de que seja possível identificar a sexualidade dos sujeitos como Rule (2011) e Sulpizio et al. (2020). Ao contrário, investigo o gaydar como um dispositivo histórico utilizado para o exercício do poder, do saber. Para isso, analiso um comercial de uma companhia de seguro: Adão e Eva no paraíso. Primeiramente, relaciono o gaydar às concepções de performatividade de gênero e de sexualidade. Em seguida, discuto como o perfilamento linguístico ( BAUGH, 2003) e a indexicalidade ( SILVERSTEIN, 2003) atuam como técnicas de poder investidas por este dispositivo. Por fim, aponto como as metapragmáticas ( SIGNORINI, 2008) são relevantes para compreender o uso do gaydar ao analisar um comercial de seguros que culmina na apresentação de diversos dispositivos para seu domínio.
