Volleyball players present high risks and some type of major injuries that interfere with the athlete's ability to train and compete with immediate consequences expressed in wasted time or lack of competition that can have long-term implications such as: chronic disability and functional limitation. The article was of a qualitative nature with the intention of a descriptive review of the international literature in order to be able to suggest the preventions of common lesions in volleyball. Therefore, coaches and instructors should have an understanding of the most common volleyball-related injuries in order to assess injuries for the potential impact they may have on both the athlete and the team. In conclusion, such consideration raises the possibility of seeking intervention strategies to reduce injuries and risk factors, since this will help trainers design and choose more effective prevention mechanisms.
