O processo de globalização promoveu uma revolução na forma de interação entre as pessoas e as organizações, principalmente através da internet a forma de se relacionar e comunicar na sociedade em geral apresentou um novo contexto, expandindo-se do espaço físico e alcançando também o virtual através das redes sociais. Este fenômeno viabilizou o aumento da quantidade de pessoas que o indivíduo e/ou organização tem possibilidade de se relacionar, e, visto que grande parte das pessoas inclusas nesse meio são consumidores, despertou-se nas organizações a percepção da importância deste ambiente. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho objetivou analisar a produção acadêmica referente ao tema redes sociais virtuais na Administração e, como meio de se atingir este propósito, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliométrica utilizando os artigos publicados de 2005 a 2015 em alguns eventos da ANPAD, que foram posteriormente filtrados, resultando na amostra de 41 artigos. A partir deste banco de dados e aplicando análises de coautoria, citações e metodologia, mapeou-se a quantidade de autores em cada artigo, o volume e nacionalidades das citações, e as abordagens, finalidades, meios e técnicas de levantamento de dados empregadas nas pesquisas. Constatou-se através desta observação que os trabalhos são tipicamente realizados em coautoria e possuem média de aproximadamente 37 referências por artigo que são, em sua maioria, internacionais. Além disso, a análise da metodologia permitiu concluir que há predominância de estudos com abordagens qualitativas, finalidades exploratórias e descritivas, que utilizam o meio survey e empírico, e têm a entrevista como principal forma de se coletar dados.
