La pandemia provocada por la presencia del virus SAR COV2, mejor conocido como COVID-19, ha trastocado todas las esferas de la sociedad actual, sin importar ubicación geográfica, nacionalidad o posición económica. El ámbito educativo también ha sido afectado y dominado por la incertidumbre del panorama. Esto ha obligado a la comunidad educativa a generar alternativas que le posibiliten cumplir con su labor. En este ámbito se centra el objetivo de nuestro escrito: analizar los retos que enfrenta la Universidad Veracruzana, en particular la Facultad de Pedagogía, para continuar brindando su servicio en medio de la emergencia sanitaria. Hacemos un análisis sobre lo que representa esta pandemia a nivel general, para presentar el panorama que vivimos en México a nivel superior y concluimos compartiendo nuestra experiencia como institución educativa para el desarrollo y puesta en marcha de un plan de trabajo que permita hacer frente a esta nueva realidad.
A pesar de los avances que la humanidad ha tenido en diferentes esferas, todavía no se ha logrado garantizar de manera universal los derechos humanos o brindar calidad de vida a toda la humanidad. Un aspecto que se vuelve clave es la equidad y, cuando la ausencia de equidad se presenta en una institución educativa, se ve afectada también su calidad. Por tal motivo, el presente escrito muestra resultados obtenidos de una investigación sobre Equidad y Calidad como parte del Proyecto Europeo ORACLE 2019 (Observatorio Regional de Calidad de la Equidad de la Educación Superior en Latinoamérica), realizada en la Universidad Veracruzana en su Región Poza Rica – Tuxpan. Para este informe, se presentan específicamente los resultados obtenidos en la Facultad de Arquitectura. Dicha investigación pretendía conocer las prácticas de equidad y calidad que se observan en dicha institución desde la perspectiva del personal docente y de los estudiantes.
El aprendizaje del inglés como segunda lengua es fundamental en la formación universitaria. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar las estrategias de aprendizaje que emplean los alumnos de la Facultad de Pedagogía de una universidad en México para el desarrollo de competencias en el idioma inglés. Para lograr ese objetivo, se acudió al paradigma cualitativo y el método fenomenológico, a través de la aplicación de entrevistas a un grupo de 15 estudiantes de la Facultad de Pedagogía, siguiendo un protocolo de entrevistas semiestructurado. Se establecieron tres categorías deductivas a priori para orientar las entrevistas: Conocimientos previos, Afinidad para estudiar el idioma e Información e incorporación de estrategias de aprendizaje. Los discursos fueron analizados mediante el procedimiento de análisis categorial, lo cual permitió identificar subcategorías emergentes. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes no aplican conscientemente estrategias de aprendizaje (cognitivas, metacognitivas y/o socioafectivas) y tampoco aprovechan el entorno didáctico existente para desarrollar un proceso de aprendizaje autónomo del inglés.
El presente artículo es resultado de una investigación realizada por el Observatorio Regional para la Calidad y la Equidad en la Educación Superior (ORACLE) en la Facultad de Pedagogía de la Universidad Veracruzana en su Campus Poza Rica–Tuxpan, entre sus propósitos está el conocer las condiciones que enfrentan los alumnos tras el cambio de la modalidad educativa presencial a la modalidad virtual derivada del confinamiento por COVID-19. Cabe mencionar que el estudio tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo; se aplicó un cuestionario a 160 alumnos del 2º al 10º semestre del programa educativo de Pedagogía, inscritos durante el periodo febrero-julio 2020. Entre los resultados obtenidos se puede mencionar que el alumnado se siente afectado en diferentes aspectos, siendo cuatro los principales: educativo, económico, emocional y social. Finalmente, se pudo observar que la modalidad virtual puso de manifiesto la vulnerabilidad del estudiante para tener acceso a sus clases.
