INTRODUÇÃO: A COVID- 19 é uma infecção respiratória aguda causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, caracterizada, principalmente, por manifestações pulmonares. No entanto, são observadas alterações patológicas extrapulmonares significativas, como o comprometimento renal, que pode evoluir para Insuficiência Renal Aguda (IRA). O mecanismo dessa infecção está relacionado com a desregulação imunológica, a tempestade de citocinas e a inflamação sistêmica, que provocam danos aos tecidos gerando uma disfunção endotelial e hipercoagulabilidade, as quais estão envolvidas na disfunção renal aguda. OBJETIVOS: Avaliar os aspectos patológicos da insuficiência renal, decorrentes de uma infecção prévia por COVID-19. MATERIAL E MÉTODOS: Foi realizada uma revisão da literatura formulada a partir da seleção de artigos indexados no banco de dados da SciElo. RESULTADOS: Os mecanismos do processo inflamatório causados pela infecção do coronavírus cursa com alterações na estrutura do parênquima renal que prejudica sua função, comprometendo a homeostase do organismo. Durante a exposição renal ao patógeno, ocorrem lesão nos podócitos, presentes nos túbulos proximais renais, além de uma reação inflamatória tecidual, mediada por interleucinas. Essas reações e alterações, induzem a modificação da permeabilidade seletiva da membrana e a necrose tubular aguda. Dessa maneira, o manejo rápido e adequado do paciente com insuficiência renal é imprescindível para impedir a evolução dessa doença. Desse modo, ações terapêuticas devem ser individualizadas, de acordo com a categoria que o paciente se encontra, sendo a hemodiálise um dos procedimentos disponíveis para restabelecer o equilíbrio interno da função renal. CONCLUSÃO: A insuficiência renal aguda é uma das manifestações extrapulmonares que ocorre após a infecção pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, que pode levar o paciente à hemodiálise, tornando uma das causas de atendimentos na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. A exposição ao patógeno, provoca um dano tecidual direto, além de uma reação inflamatória, fazendo-o iniciar uma cascata de reações desencadeadas por interleucinas. Assim, devido aos sintomas causados pelo agravamento da IRA, a identificação e o atendimento inicial ao paciente deve ser rápido e objetivo, com intuito de evitar a evolução da doença.
RESUMOO presente artigo teve como finalidade realizar uma revisão literária acerca do acometimento da asma em crianças e seus impactos na qualidade de vida dos afetados pela doença. A asma é uma doença que provoca inflamação crônica das vias aéreas inferiores causando limitação do fluxo aéreo acompanhada por hiper-responsividade brônquica e hipersecreção do muco. Embora seja uma doença relativamente de fácil controle, ainda é encontrado o aumento de sua prevalência em muitos países, sendo a patologia de maior prevalência na infância. Portanto, a criança asmático deve ser muito bem acompanhada pelos profissionais da saúde, visto que a doença impacta em sua qualidade de vida, podendo implicar em afastamento da rotina, restrições físicas e sociais. O tratamento se baseia em fatores não farmacológicos, como evitar a exposição domiciliar a mofos e também em medidas farmacológicas para controle de crise, como o uso de inalatórios beta agonistas de curta duração (SABA). Assim, quanto melhor for acompanhado o paciente, procurando estudar e analisar fatores desencadeantes, ambientes desfavoráveis, fatores de melhora ou piora, melhor será a qualidade de vida proporcionada. Por fim, o estudo teve como limitação a falta de dados financeiros específicos a respeito dos custos do tratamento medicamentoso e informações sobre quais drogas são ofertadas pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).
