Avaliou-se o tecido de granulação formado com o uso de membrana amniótica e pericárdio canino como curativo biológico oclusivo em feridas cutâneas experimentais. Utilizaram-se 15 cães; em cada animal, foram produzidas três feridas na região torácica dorsal. As feridas craniais e caudais receberam aloenxerto de membrana amniótica e pericárdio canino, respectivamente, e as feridas intermediárias (controle) curativo não aderente. No sétimo dia, sobre todas as feridas, foram feitas auto-enxertias cutâneas. Foram realizadas avaliações clínicas, histológicas, incluindo contagem e diâmetro médio dos vasos sangüíneos do tecido de granulação bem como coleta de secreção das feridas e dos enxertos. Concluiu-se que a aplicação do curativo de membrana amniótica e de pericárdio canino sobre feridas cutâneas durante sete dias não estimula o aparecimento da granulação necessária para a aplicação à enxertia cutânea, podendo, apenas, ser utilizado como curativo biológico oclusivo.
Objetivo: Analisar as diferentes formas de tratamento propostas para união retardada e não-união de fraturas em cães, levando em consideração a classificação do processo, condições encontradas e a viabilidade de cada tratamento. Fontes Pesquisadas: Foram pesquisadas as bases de dados LILACS, DEDALUS, PUBMED e o acervo da Biblioteca da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade de São Paulo, no período de junho de 2003 a março de 2004. Síntese dos Dados: União retardada e não-união são eventos patológicos no processo de recuperação de fraturas, decorrentes de vários fatores físicos ou biológicos que resultam em uma inadequada reparação óssea. Dentre as causas, sem dúvida, a mais comum é a escolha inadequada do tratamento, gerando instabilidade, perda do aporte vascular e quebra da seqüência dos processos biológicos de cicatrização. Conclusões: Estudos experimentais e clínicos indicam uma variedade muito grande de tratamentos, destacando- se entre eles o uso de proteínas osteoindutoras.
A distribuição dos cinco pares de glândulas mamárias dos cães é mediana e as mesmas são paralelas, no sentido da região axilar à parainguinal. A neoplasia mamária é a patologia mais comum destas glândulas e é referida como a principal causa de indicação para mastectomia. A plastia emd uplo "M" ou "V" é descrita como alternativa para a obtenção de resultados cicatriciais e estéticos melhores.
