A Síndrome da Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono -SAOS é uma doença crônica, de caráter progressivo, que afeta gravemente a saúde e a qualidade de vida. Entre as suas implicações estão os despertares e microdespertares frequentes, a fragmentação do sono, a dessaturação de oxihemoglobina e a redução da eficiência do sono, que resultam em sonolência excessiva diurna. É caracterizada por episódios recorrentes de obstrução parcial (hipopneia) ou total (apneia) da via aérea superior -VAS durante o sono, associada à manutenção dos esforços inspiratórios, por pelo menos 10 segundos. Considerando a importância dessa enfermidade, diversos tratamentos têm sido propostos, entre os quais se destacam os aparelhos intraorais. Este trabalho tem como finalidade apresentar um caso clínico de tratamento da SAOS moderada, considerando como método de tratamento o uso supervisionado de aparelhos intraorais -AIO. O tratamento foi acompanhado por meio do diário de sono e seu resultado confirmado por exames polissonográficos. Após o período de tratamento avaliado observou-se melhora nos parâmetros polissonográficos e nos sintomas relatados pela paciente. Dessa forma, o tratamento da SAOS moderada com uso do AIO mostrou-se uma alternativa eficaz no caso apresentado no qual a adesão do paciente foi mantida. Palavras-chave:
