Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo la caracterización de la actividad empresarial de la ciudad de Ocaña (Colombia), a partir de la descripción de los sectores económicos en los cuales ésta se desarrolla; la duración de las empresas, su organización jurídica, tamaño; edad, género, estado civil y nivel educativo de sus empresarios; sus indicadores gerenciales,
estrategias de mercadeo, entre otros. Se siguió un tipo de estudio no experimental – descriptivo - transversal. Participó una población de 4.270 empresas de las cuales se muestreó estratificadamente a 353. Se les aplicó una encuesta estructurada a los empresarios participantes. Los
resultados muestran que la microempresa es la forma de negocio más extendida; existe escaso interés por capacitarse y sólo una tercera parte de los empresarios ha culminado sus estudios. Las empresas orientan su producción principalmente a atender las demandas de la zona de influencia local o regional. Se halló falta de planeación a largo plazo en la proyección y funcionamiento del negocio.
Tomando como referencia el estudio de la Capacidad Turística de Ocaña y su Región, se recurre a la información recolectada sobre los atractivos turísticos de Ocaña, La Playa de Belén, El Carmen y Ábrego en el Norte de Santander, como uno de los elementos que hacen parte de los recursos que permiten desarrollar la actividad turística, que dinamiza el desarrollo socioeconómico regional.
Para ello, se visitó cada uno de las poblaciones objeto de estudio donde se identificaron los atractivos turísticos con los que se cuenta, muchos de ellos declarados Bienes de Interés Cultural de Carácter Nacional, Departamental y Municipal; evidenciándose que Ocaña y su región posee un gran potencial turístico que permitiría ofertarse como un destino de clase mundial, pero para ello se requiere del apoyo e inversión tanto del sector público como del sector privado y el apoyo de instituciones educativas en la formación del recurso humano necesario que garantice un excelente servicio.
En el presente artículo refleja el trabajo, producto de varios estudios que dos grupos de investigación de la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña, han llevado a cabo durante aproximadamente 7 años en torno al sector turismo en Ocaña y algunos municipios, con miras a conocer la situación de las empresas que directa o indirectamente prestan servicios conexos al turismo, así como la identificación y clasificación de los recursos y atractivos turísticos existentes, la capacidad operativa de los actores del turismo de Ocaña, Ábrego, La Playa y El Carmen, la creación de una página web y el análisis de la usabilidad de la misma; lo cual ha dado como resultado el planteamiento de estrategias organizacionales y comunicativas que permitan hacer de esta área geográfica un destino turístico con visibilidad y posibilidades de convertirla en una actividad económica que aporte al desarrollo regional, por medio de las TIC.
El presente artículo de investigación descriptiva responde a la preocupación acerca de la existencia del “cúmulo de información de economía solidaria que se encuentra dispersa, sin ser identificada, recopilada, ni sistematizada, lo cual impide determinar cuáles son los temas tratados, el aporte realizado, los vacíos existentes, que ameriten ser tratados y ampliados”. Entendiendo a la educación solidaria como aquella alternativa viable para acometer los retos que afronta la escuela colombiana.
Es por ello que se tiene como finalidad, determinar la formación de economía solidaria que imparten las instituciones educativas públicas de la ciudad de Ocaña. Para este fin se requirió identificar la formación en economía solidaria por medio de una matriz analítica, caracterizar la formación académica y práctica de economía solidaria mediante el estudio de nueve criterios, además de generar un sistema de información geográfico de educación solidaria de los colegios, con el fin de ofrecer información sistematizada para el desarrollo de futuros proyectos de formación solidaria en los colegios públicos.
