Objetivo: Avaliar a sociodemografia, a etiologia e os desfechos de vítimas de queimaduras atendidos na Unidade de Tratamento de Queimados (UTQ) do Hospital de Urgência de Sergipe – HUSE. Métodos: Estudo epidemiológico, prospectivo de caráter exploratório, transversal com abordagem quantitativa de base hospitalar. A coleta de dados foi realizada a partir das informações contidas no prontuário dos pacientes internados na UTQ, bem como através da entrevista realizada a cada paciente. Resultados: Participaram da pesquisa 180 pacientes, a maior parte foram do sexo masculino (61,1%) e entre as faixas etárias as crianças de 0-5 anos foram as mais acometidas (39%). O maior agente causador foi o líquido inflamável (47,2%). Os membros inferiores foram as regiões mais acometidas (35%). Quanto a profundidade da queimadura, 87,2% foram queimaduras de 2º grau, segundo a extensão da área atingida 77% foram classificados como médio queimados. As terapias tópicas mais aplicadas foram dos ácidos graxos essenciais (54,3%) e a sulfadiazina de prata (44,5%). A taxa de óbito foi 5% e a taxa de alta médica foi 94,6%. Conclusão: A assistência prestada aos pacientes da UTQ do HUSE foi satisfatória tendo em vista o alto índice da alta hospitalar com prognóstico maior de sequelas temporárias.
