Introdução: A estomia intestinal é uma condição que podeafetar a vida das pessoas, seu convívio em sociedade, bemcomo ter consequências diretas para a qualidade de vida.Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade de vida de pacientes com estomiaintestinal atendidos em ambulatório de um hospital. Casuísticae Métodos: Estudo transversal analítico e quantitativo. Aamostra foi composta por 54 pacientes estomizados, acima de18 anos e acompanhados há pelo menos um ano no ambulatóriode estomia de um hospital de Goiânia/GO. Foram aplicadosum questionário sociodemográfico e a versão abreviada doinstrumento de avaliação de qualidade de vida da OrganizaçãoMundial da Saúde World Health Organization instrument toevaluate quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF). Foi confeccionadoum banco de dados utilizando o SPSS 18. Foi realizada umaanálise descritiva das variáveis e foram utilizados o teste t deStudent e o teste de análise de variância (ANOVA) Scheffépara avaliar a existência ou não de diferença estatisticamentesignificativa (p≤0,05). Resultados: A pesquisa incluiu 54pacientes, sendo 30 do sexo feminino e 24 do sexo masculino.Quanto à renda familiar, 61,1% informaram receber até umsalário mínimo. A maioria afirmou não ter atividades de lazer(62,9%), não praticar atividade física (85,2%) e não estarempregada (92,6%). A média do escore geral da qualidade devida foi 3,7±0,5. Os domínios apresentaram escores indicandoboa qualidade de vida. Identificou-se que não ter religião,ter filhos e maior renda são preditores relacionados a ummelhor escore no domínio meio ambiente. Os que referirammelhor autoavaliação da qualidade de vida também tiverammelhores escores em satisfação com a saúde e domínios físicoe psicológico. Conclusão: Os pacientes com estomia intestinalapresentaram boa qualidade de vida, com menores escoresem meio ambiente, que se relacionam com as facetas dinheiroe lazer. Melhor autopercepção da qualidade de vida indicamelhor satisfação com a saúde em geral.
