The title complex was synthesized by an unusual reaction between [Ni(acac) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ] and ethylenediamine in water solution. The crystal structure of 1 shows the nickel(II) core in a tetragonally distorted octahedral environment coordinated to two ethylenediamine molecules and one acetate ligand. A solution of deprotonated 1,3-bis(4-bromophenyl)triazene reacts with Hg(CH 3 COO) 2 in methanol / tetrahydrofurane to give yellow crystalline needles of {Hg II [NNN(PhBr) 2 ] 2 } n , a triazenide complex polymer of Hg II with metal-η 2 ,η 2 -arene π-interactions, performed by coordinated single triazenide chains. 615[Hg II (BrPhNNNPhBr) 2 ] n can be viewed as a one-dimensional assembling of planar tectons [Hg II (BrPhNNNPhBr) 2 ] linked through metalocene alike Hg II -η 2 ,η 2 -arene π-interactions along the crystallographic b axis.
The pyridine-2-carbaldehyde semicarbazone ligand (HL) reacts with iron(II) and copper(II) perchlorates in boiling ethanol to yield red-violet [Fe II (HL) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 · H 2 O (1) and light-green crystals [Cu II (HL) 2 ](ClO 4 ) 2 · H 2 O (2). The crystals are triclinic with the metal ions in an octahedral environment, coordinated to two nitro-1801 gen and one oxygen-donor atom from HL. The reaction of hydroxylamine hydrochloride with isatin in ethanol, catalysed with HCl and neutralized with Na2CO3, yielded the one-dimensional coordination polymer, catena-poly[[[aquasodium]-di-μ-aqua-[aquasodium]-bis(μ-2-oxoindoline-2,3-dione 3-oximato)] tetrakis(oxoindoline-2,3-dione 3-oxime)], {[Na(C8H5N2O2)(H2O)2]·2C8H6N2O2}n. The NaI atom has a six-coordinate distorted-octahedral environment. Isatine-3-oximate O atoms and water molecules bridge adjacent Na atoms, forming a one-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to [100]. Each isatine-3-oxime dimerizes through N—H⋯O interactions and in addition each oxime is linked to a coordination polymer. Thus, coordination polymers are linked by O—H⋯O and O—H⋯N interactions from isatine-3-oxime dimers, building a two-dimensional network parallel to [110].
