Abstract The use of soil as raw material for construction techniques arose along with the need for human beings to settle in places, building the first houses and societies. The first constructions on raw earth are dates more than 7,000 years B.C., being observed that the use of this raw material occurred in almost all the continents due to the diversity of the material and the climate. In Brazil, the construction techniques with raw earth were widely used in the colonial period with a strong influence of the Portuguese who introduced the techniques of adobe, rammed earth and rammed earth. Such construction techniques remained present, but this way of building has been losing ground in the late 8th century and until the middle of the 19th century and is increasingly marginalized. Knowing these constructive techniques that go back to ancient civilizations, their history and their methods is necessary to learn and understand part of human culture and traditions. This narrative review, based on books, articles and seminars, surveys the history of soil raw material in civil construction, chronologically presenting the construction techniques and methods that were used in different regions, focusing on the known and usual raw earth constructions in Brazil. Keywords: Earth Constructions. Earth Architecture. Bioconstruction.
Abstract The constructive technique of adobe is a masonry method in which blocks are used on raw earth whose main raw material is soil. In general, this technique provided great achievements in the history of humanity and legitimately reproduces a simple construction method, easily accessible and sustainable. This bioconstructive technique is an investment proposal for several studies, as it is a method that has followed the history of engineering and architecture and it is possible to be perfected and it can be done in several possible ways with different aggregates. This work presents the adobe technique, which is a sustainable alternative for artisanal constructions, as well as the experience with the technique and the change in behavior for the making of blocks with different proportions of vegetable fiber in their constitution, and this addition is usually made to assist in the mechanical strength of the block. This work consists of a mixture of a narrative review with empirical preparation, the first being based on books, articles, seminars and other scientific works that address the theme of constructions on raw earth with emphasis on the adobe technique, addressing the main points for the making of the blocks and drawing a comparison about this production. Keywords: raw earth construction; adobe; block of raw earth.
Coco. Fibra Vegetal. Abstract Coconut is a fruit present in agriculture in several countries, with an estimated consumption of 61.3 million tons of tons per year in about 12 million hectares. The main fruit consumption is related to the food industry, being consumed its water, the pulp that is the edible part of the fruit and that generates other food derivatives. However, after using the edible parts of the fruit, it is possible to use its by-product by extracting the fiber from the fruit's mesocarp, this composite being known as coconut fiber. Vegetable fiber from coconut, coconut fiber, is widely used in several different sectors due to its characteristics of durability, rigidity, impermeability, resistance against biological resistance, tensile and thermoacoustic resistance, standing out from other vegetable fibers. These characteristics are associated with its lignocellulosic composition of this fiber, being present higher lignin (45 - 46%) in comparison with other natural fibers. This narrative review is based on books, articles, seminars and other scientific works that address the topic of vegetable fibers and coconut fiber, and the main objective is to survey this composite addressing its origin, chemical, organic, mechanical and general features. Keywords: Coconut Fiber. Coconut. Vegetable Fiber.
