TOWARDS A CITY IN PENNY-FARTHING: The role of children as essential changemakersCon este estudio pretendemos realizar una aproximación al papel fundamental de los niños y niñas como agentes de cambio en la ciudad de Murcia. Entendemos que estos se adaptan fácilmente a la realidad que se les presenta, y que la educación tiene un papel decisivo para generar un modelo de transporte acorde con un estilo de vida equilibrado con las nuevas corrientes de movilidad sostenible. Es así que debemos tener en cuenta el papel de los padres y madres, los usuarios de la bicicleta, activistas y agentes públicos en la educación de "nuestros pequeños" para que faciliten dicho cambio. Para ello nos basamos en el trabajo de campo realizado a partir de la recopilación de experiencias personales y de la exploración del entorno del activismo probici de la ciudad de Murcia, que cuenta con personas que han utilizado la bicicleta para sus desplazamientos urbanos cotidianos y que en la actualidad se enfrentan al dilema de dejar o no que sus hijos la usen para realizar actividades de la vida cotidiana, como por ejemplo, el desplazamiento al colegio. A través de la creación de espacios participativos, siguiendo a Tonucci, observamos cómo enfrentan diferentes familias el miedo a la ciudad, que ha expulsado a niños y niñas de sus calles, limitando su autonomía en el espacio urbano.
