Die Theodor‐Heuss‐Brücke in Düsseldorf ist die älteste Schrägseilbrücke Deutschlands und die weltweit erste mit harfenförmig angeordneten Seilen. Seit ihrer Fertigstellung 1957 ist die Verkehrsbelastung stetig gestiegen. Wie bei vielen anderen älteren Brücken mit orthotropen Fahrbahnplatten führte dies mit der Zeit zu Schäden – u. a. in Form von Rissen. Eine Nachrechnung des Bauwerks zeigt deutliche Defizite – insbesondere hinsichtlich der Ermüdung in der orthotropen Fahrbahnplatte. Daher wurde 2019 ein Monitoringsystem aus über 80 Sensoren am Bauwerk installiert und über ein Jahr betrieben. Der Beitrag zeigt die Entwicklung des Monitoringkonzepts, seine Umsetzung und Auswertung. Aus den Messdaten werden Erkenntnisse zum Tragverhalten abgeleitet. So zeigt sich ein signifikanter Zusammenhang zwischen den ermüdungswirksamen Beanspruchungen und der Temperatur. Einerseits wirkt die steife Asphaltschicht beim Lastabtrag mit, andererseits bewirkt sie eine größere Lastverteilung. Auch zeigt das Monitoring, dass der Einfluss von Radlasten dominiert und eine Ablastung über das zulässige Fahrzeuggesamtgewicht nur geringen Nutzen hat. Vielmehr sind die Radlasten zu begrenzen, um die Bauteile der Fahrbahnplatte zu entlasten.
Aufgrund rechnerischer Defizite in der Ermüdungstragfähigkeit der orthotropen Fahrbahnplatte wurde an der Theodor‐Heuss‐Brücke ein Monitoringsystem installiert, um Dehnungen an maßgebenden Stellen für ein Jahr zu messen. In Teil 1 dieses Beitrags wurden das Monitoringsystem und Erkenntnisse zum Tragverhalten anhand der Messdaten beschrieben. Dieser zweite Teil schließt mit messwertgestützten Ermüdungsnachweisen und der Lebensdauerprognose an. Grundlage der Auswertungen ist ein numerisches Berechnungsmodell, welches anhand von zwei Probebelastungen in Sommer und Winter kalibriert wird. Unter Berücksichtigung verschiedener Laststellungen werden Übertragungsfaktoren abgeleitet, die die Differenz zwischen Messstelle und maßgebender Nachweisstelle kompensieren. Damit werden die gemessenen Schwingbreitenhistogramme in maßgebende Belastungsspektren transformiert, mit denen schließlich die Lebensdauerprognose erfolgt. Die Auswertungen zeigen, dass für die meisten Bauteile weitere Tragreserven vorhanden sind und eine deutliche Verbesserung gegenüber der Nachrechnung erreicht wird. Einzig die Ecken der Querträgerausnehmungen (Querträgerstegzähne) weisen deutliche Defizite auf, die sich auch im vorhandenen Rissbild widerspiegeln. Über die Zukunft der Theodor‐Heuss‐Brücke, die von weiteren Faktoren abhängt, wird derzeit entschieden.
Mit der fortschreitenden Digitalisierung ergeben sich für die messtechnische, sensorgestützte Überwachung von Bauwerken zunehmend neue Einsatzbereiche. So schafft das Bauwerksmonitoring durch die Erfassung realer Bauwerksreaktionen und Einwirkungen neue Möglichkeiten zur Bewertung und zum Erhalt gealterter Infrastrukturbauwerke. Auch die Bauwerksprüfung kann durch Messtechnik sinnvoll unterstützt und ergänzt werden, wodurch eine prädiktive Instandhaltungsstrategie greifbar wird. In diesem Anwenderbericht werden ausgewählte Monitoringprojekte des Ingenieurbüros Grassl vorgestellt. Anhand verschiedener Anwendungsfälle werden die spezifischen Herausforderungen und Möglichkeiten des Monitorings bei Betrachtung unterschiedlicher Themenschwerpunkte beleuchtet. Die Projekte zeigen, wie durch Monitoring die Restlebensdauer von Stahlbrücken verlängert werden kann, die Ausschreibung eines Monitorings für ein innerstädtisches Tunnelbauwerk gelingt und ein Structural Health Monitoring eines komplexen Neubaus bereits in der Planungsphase berücksichtigt wird. Zudem werden mögliche Schnittstellen zur Bauwerksprüfung dargestellt.
