Preceptorship is a teaching and learning method to university students by involving nurses as the role model. The objective of preceptorship program in learning is to build the students’ role and responsibility to be professional nurses with wide knowledge. The major aim of this research was to study further preceptor’s experience in conducting preceptorship program in the hospitals in Medan. This is a descriptive phenomenological study. Questionnaires with demographic characteristics and guided interviews were used as the research instruments. The data were collected through in-depth interview and by using field-note. Purposive sampling technique was employed to select the participants who met the inclusion criteria. The participants consist of 10 preceptors in Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan. The descriptions of the preceptors’ experience were analyzed by using Colaizzi approach. The results found out 5 themes reflecting the studied phenomena. The themes were maximally preparing themselves before conducting preceptorship program, the preceptors’, responsibilities in conducting counseling process, unpleasant experience during the student counseling, the preceptors’ expectation to the corrective process in the preceptorship counseling, and the preceptors are the students’ role model during the practice. According to the research results, it is suggested that nursing education is committed to follow the policies, standards, procedures, and regulations set forth in the guidebook, for nursing services to facilitate the preceptor by improving the knowledge of the preceptorship program up to date, and It is also expected that this nursing research can become the evidence-based data for the facility improvement to the future researchers.
Mahasiswa merupakan kelompok atau golongan yang diharapkan memahami akan kondisi serta keadaan yang dialami oleh bangsanya sendiri dengan cara memiliki pengetahuan yang baik dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah. Namun, realitanya dalam menjalani proses perkuliahan sering ditemukan perilaku prokrastinasi akademik.. Salah satu faktor internal yang sangat berperan penting dalam meminimalisir perilaku prokrastinasi akademik yaitu efikasi diri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui Hubungan Efikasi Diri Dengan Prokrastinasi Akademik Mahasiswa STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan Tahun 2021. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah Stratified Random Sampling. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kuesioner efikasi diri dengan prokrastinasi akademik Desain dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif koresional dengan pendekatan cross sectional dengan jumlah populasi yaitu seluruh mahasiswa akademik STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan sebanyak 630 orang dengan sampel sebanyak 226 orang. Hasil uji Spearman’s-rank didapatkan nilai p= 0,000<0,05 sehingga terdapat hubungan efikasi diri dengan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mayortitas memiliki efikasi diri sebanyak 208 orang (92,0%), sedangkan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa memiliki mayoritas kategori sedang sebanyak 163 orang (72,0%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan efikasi diri dengan prokrastinasi akademik dengan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan. Dalam hal ini perlu upaya untuk mengurangi perilaku prokrastinasi akademik yang sering terjadi dikalangan responden dengan memberi motivasi kepada mahasiswa agar lebih meningkatkan keyakinan diri dalam menyelesaikan studi tepat waktu.
Self-compassion is a mindset of accepting, understanding, and loving oneself in order to be capable of manipulating feelings positively, overcoming problems faced, decreasing anxiety, stress, and depression; and also being superb in knowing oneself when experiencing difficulties so as no longer to criticize oneself excessively and can enhance the exceptional of life, accordingly self-compassion is needed in nursing services in enhancing the excellent of nursing services. This study aims to identify self-compassion in nurses at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2022. We used a descriptive method. The sampling technique is total sampling, and we have 196 respondents. This study uses a compassion scale questionnaire with 26 statements, consisting of 6 components, namely self-kindness, self-judgment, common humanity, isolation, mindfulness, and overidentification. The results obtained from the description of self-compassion of nurses at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan 2022. We found that in high category as many as 62.8%, and in low category as many as 37.2%. It can be said that the self-compassion of nurses at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan is high in treating themselves and others well and being able to understand one's shortcomings. We hope that nurses can maintain their self-compassion in service tasks.
INTRODUCTION: Final year students will confront different assignments and obstacles each semester. The final task in preparing the thesis experienced by students becomes a burden that is quite energy-consuming, time that triggers students to become depressed individuals which can cause stress. Stress that cannot be managed properly has a harmful impact on the mental and physical health of students. One way that is easily accessible is by doing yoga. Yoga is a physical exercise that can have a positive effect on health and can reduce stress. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of yoga exercise on reducing stres levels in final year students in writing a thesis. Method: This research method uses a one-group pre-post test design. The population in this study are 113 respondents. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with simple random sampling with a total of 32 respondents. Data analysis with Wilcoxon sign rank test. Result: The results of the study obtained p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of yoga exercise on reducing stress levels in final year students in writing thesis. Discussion: Yoga exercise can increase parasympathetic activity and increase GABA (Gamma Aminobutyric Acid). In a relaxed or meditative body and mind condition, it can reduce negative emotions, reduce feelings, and increase calm in individuals so as to reduce anxiety experienced. The caring behavior of the nurse is the act of the nurse by showing compassion for the patient. Nurses who have caring for patients will establish interpersonal relationships so that patients feel comfortable, safe, and can improve their health.Goal: The purpose of this study is to find out how the description of caring behavior of nurses in patients in internal wards of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan.Method: Design of this study is descriptif. Population of the study is all inpatients in internis wards of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan. Sample is determined based on Slovin formula and obtained as much as 86 respondents.The sampling method used is probability sampling with random sampling type. Data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires directly to the respondents.Results: Results of this study is from 7 subscales obtained that the highest mean score is subscale assist in fulfillment of basic human need with score mean 3,45 and total mean score 3,17 in sufficient category.Conslution: Based on this study it can be concluded that the patient assessed the caring behavior of nurses in sufficient category of nursing care that has been given to the patient in the internal ward of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan.It is expected that the nurse will increase the caring and empathy in the patient.It is expected that nurses will increase caring and empathy to the patients by cultivating caring behavior through continuing education and practicing interpersonally.
