Ahstract-This paper deals with spectrum analysis of a PWM signal on the basis of the study of idealized zero (instantaneous switching) and one (non-instantaneous linear switching edges) order models. In the literature, it is shown that high frequency content of a PWM signal is all the more reduced as it is differentiable a large number of times [2]. It is shown in this paper that minimal bound of high frequency spectrum is reached when a gaussian switching pattern is used. This result is proved by using the Heisenberg-Gabor uncertainty principle (widely known by physicists in quantum mechanics).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
