Resumen sosiego, silencio y respeto que contribuya al bienestar y a la recuperación de los pacientes hospitalizados.Materiales y métodos: Revisión de la literatura publicada sobre el tema en algunas revistas de la disciplina y en otras publicaciones. Se revisó también la ley 266 que reglamenta la profesión de enfermería en Colombia.Resultados :Se presentan algunos aspectos sobre la problemática del ruido en las ciudades y en las instituciones hospitalarias y su impacto en el bienestar de los pacientes. De igual manera, la responsabilidad del equipo de salud en esta situación y en especial el papel que tienen los profesionales de Enfermería en relación con el cuidado integral de los pacientes en un aspecto tan importante como es el descanso y el sueño.Conclusiones: El ruido es un problema cada vez mayor, que invade todos los espacios. En el ambiente hospitalario es importante que se garanticen unas condiciones de serenidad y sosiego que contribuyan a la recuperación de los pacientes. It is equally important for the healthcare team to take action on patients' overall health and ensure they have enough sleep and rest.Conclusions: Noise is an increasingly occurring problem which invades all areas. It is important to guarantee a peaceful and quiet hospital environment to contribute to patients´ recovery. This must be considered in training future healthcare professionals.
Introducción. La fibrosis quística es una enfermedad huérfana cuyas manifestaciones se presentan en los sistemas respiratorio y digestivo. El manejo clásico se sustenta en tres pilares: antibioticoterapia, terapia respiratoria y control nutricional, cuyos objetivos son mantener la vía aérea libre de secreción e infección y lograr un estado nutricional óptimo.Objetivo: Proporcionar información a los profesionales de enfermería para el cuidado de pacientes con esta condición, con el fin de brindar atención integral que les ayude y a sus familias.Metodología. Se realizó una búsqueda en las bases de datos PubMed, LILACS y SciELO con descriptores relacionados con fibrosis quística en niños, diagnóstico, tratamiento, cuidados de enfermería y educación a la familia. También se consultó el Google académico, artículos en libros y revistas especializadas en inglés, español y portugués, publicados a partir de 2006.Resultados. En Colombia y en general en el mundo, existen pocos estudios escritos por profesionales de enfermería sobre este tema; sin embargo, se encontraron artículos publicados por diversos profesionales de la salud, la gran mayoría escritos por médicos, primando el inglés y provenientes de Europa y Norteamérica los cuales brindaron información actualizada y relevante para brindar cuidados con base científica.Conclusiones.El sistema de salud en Colombia es precario, lo que redunda en la calidad de vida y expectativa de vida de estos pacientes. El cuidado y la atención de los niños con fibrosis quística es compleja y amerita un equipo interdisciplinario compuesto por médicos, enfermeras, fisioterapeutas, nutricionistas y psicólogos en el cual el papel del profesional de enfermería es fundamental, con el fin de lograr adherencia al tratamiento, fortaleciendo la educación y el seguimiento de estos pacientes.
Introducción: La enseñanza de las virtudes se da en diferentes espacios, uno de los cuales es el universitario, y para los profesionales de enfermería practicarlas debe ser un compromiso con la excelencia profesional. Objetivo: Analizar los conocimientos y la práctica de las virtudes de prudencia, responsabilidad y compasión de los estudiantes de enfermería de una universidad pública e identificar la percepción que tienen sobre la vivencia de estas virtudes en los docentes de la facultad. Método: Estudio de tipo cualitativo. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a diez estudiantes. Para el análisis se tuvieron en cuenta las herramientas de la teoría fundamentada, se guardaron las consideraciones éticas de anonimato y firma de consentimiento informado. Resultados: La vivencia de las virtudes es importante, y su aprendizaje se da más por el ejemplo que se brinda que por la enseñanza teórica. La virtud que más sentimientos evoca es la de la compasión. La vivencia de las virtudes en el ámbito comunitario se experimenta muy poco, y ello da la impresión de que el cuidado a la comunidad no tiene la misma importancia que la experiencia clínica. Conclusiones: La enseñanza de la ética en los currículos de enfermería es asunto que debe complementarse con el ejemplo de los docentes de cualquier curso. Aunque las virtudes deben practicarse siempre, es tal vez, en momentos de adversidad y de múltiples carencias, cuando más debe brillar un profesional armónico, que una la ciencia a la virtud para brindar un cuidado humano, integral y comprometido.
