Este artículo analiza la idoneidad del clero del reino de Granada y sus relaciones con los feligreses moriscos. Tras las conversiones forzosas, la corona desarrolló una política religiosa que no obtuvo resultados y que la llevó a promulgar una serie de cédulas entre 1511 y 1514. El objetivo de este trabajo es determinar, a través de documentación inédita conservada en el Archivo General de Simancas, si las medidas adoptadas entre estos años lograron algún resultado en términos de residencia, simonía y actitud del bajo clero hacia los cristianos nuevos.
Este artículo analiza la organización administrativa y fiscal de las iglesias del Alpujarra, en el reino de Granada, tras las conversiones al catolicismo. Tras la bula de erección de 1501 comenzaron a llegar los primeros clérigos a esta región, habitada mayoritariamente por moriscos. La gestión de las dos fuentes principales de ingresos, compuestas por diezmos y bienes habices, estarían en un principio en manos de la Corona y, a lo largo de la primera década de 1500, pasarían a estar controladas por las propias iglesias. Cómo se produjo este cambio, qué niveles de rentas se alcanzaron y en qué se gastaron los recursos fiscales constituirán nuestro objeto de estudio
