As relações étnico-raciais é um tema complexo que envolve diferentes aspectos, entre os quais incluem-se aqueles vinculados aos processos educacionais. Nesse sentido, o currículo torna-se um campo a ser analisado, uma vez que se deve constituir em uma ferramenta que possibilite aprendizagens a partir de reflexões e práticas que valorize à diversidade cultural, bem como proporcione a desconstrução de discursos e práticas educativas que silenciam ou estereotipam pessoas de diferentes origens étnicas e culturais, promovendo uma educação com equidade do ponto de vista ético e racial. Este artigo apresenta aspectos de uma pesquisa de mestrado acadêmico em andamento. O estudo tem uma abordagem qualitativa e objetiva analisar as possíveis articulações entre o ensino de Matemática e as relações étnico-raciais no anos finais do Ensino Fundamental. Enfoca-se uma análise realizada na Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC). Identifica-se que o documento faz menção a legislação vigente da Lei 10639/03 e em suas orientações são apresentadas algumas propostas curriculares que permitem a abordagem dos conteúdos e conhecimentos da matriz africana, dos povos indígenas e afro-brasileiros. No entanto, percebe-se que as diretrizes da BNCC contemplam a temática apenas para seguir determinações jurídicas e que mesmo com a possibilidade de sua abordagem em alguns conteúdos curriculares, faz-se necessário a elaboração e realização de propostas educativas que promova uma educação antirracista, e que não se apresente superficialmente a temática apenas como conteúdos transversais e integradores.
