A COVID-19 é uma doença infecciosa causada pelo coronavírus SARS-CoV-2 e é capaz de afetar diferentes pessoas de diferentes formas. Apesar de seus sintomas e seus agentes causadores serem bem conhecidos, seus efeitos deletérios são ainda, considerados um mistério, tanto com relação às suas extensões, quanto com relação a sua duração. Um dos efeitos que têm chamado bastante a atenção dos cientistas é a queda capilar. O objetivo principal deste trabalho pauta-se em investigar e entender a relação entre a queda de cabelo e a COVID-19, bem como sobre os tratamentos mais adequados para tal. Para que o objetivo fosse atingido, uma revisão integrativa do tipo qualitativa e descritiva foi aplicada, considerando-se os termos de busca ("COVID-19" [DeCS]) OR (“coronavírus” [DeCS]) AND (“queda de cabelo” [DeCS]) na plataforma Publish or Perish. A pesquisa foi realizada no dia 08 de dezembro de 2021 e utilizou as bases: Google scholar, PubMed, e Lilacs. Embora não haja evidências científicas da relação direta entre a COVID-19 e a queda capilar, estudos demontram a existência de uma relação indireta. Sintomas da COVID-19 como por exemplo: febre e estresse (entre outras alterações psicossociais) são considerados potencializadores da queda, bem como as respostas aos medicamentos utilizados para a cura da COVID-19. Com relação ao tratamento, ainda que existam alguns estudos acerca de alguns medicamentos que apresentam-se mais efetivos que outros, o mais indicado é que se busque um especialista, para que o tratamento seja assertivo e individual.
A sífilis é uma infecção causada pela bactéria Treponema pallidum, a qual pode ser transmitida por transfusão sanguínea, compartilhamento de agulhas, via placentária, e principalmente, por relações sexuais desprotegidas. No Brasil, a infecção por sífilis está em crescimento, inclusive na população idosa. Para que isso não se torne um problema de saúde pública, é importante o conhecimento por parte de profissionais de saúde dos dados relacionados a sífilis em idosos, além da propagação de informações quanto a prevenção das ISTs neste público. Apresentamos nesta revisão de caráter qualitativo e descritivo, uma análise crítica e detalhada dos estudos publicados nos últimos dez anos relacionados a sífilis e a vulnerabilidade em idosos, e dados epidemiológicos de sífilis nos idosos no Brasil. Foram realizadas buscas nas plataformas Scielo, MedLine e PubMed, utilizando-se os descritores “syphilis” AND “Treponema pallidum” AND “old-aged”. Após critérios de inclusão e exclusão, 22 artigos foram selecionados para integrar esta revisão. Os estudos demonstram o crescimento da sífilis no público idoso nos últimos dez anos em diferentes regiões do Brasil, associado à falta de informações quanto a transmissão e formas de prevenção. Além disso, indivíduos do sexo masculino se mostram o público mais afetado pela sífilis em idosos. Assim, as informações apresentadas nesta revisão são importantes para que profissionais da saúde tenham melhor compreensão dos dados epidemiológicos de sífilis em idosos em diferentes regiões do Brasil e proporcionem campanhas de conscientização para otimizar a prevenção da sífilis e de outras ISTs neste público.
Cigarros eletrônicos (CE) têm sido considerados por jovens e adultos, uma nova forma de lazer e ainda, uma alternativa para substituição dos cigarros convencionais e, por conta disso, têm chamado a atenção de diversas indústrias para sua fabricação. Porém, pouco se sabe, ainda, sobre seus reais malefícios. O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever a relação entre o consumo de cigarros eletrônicos e as doenças pulmonares. O presente estudo apresenta-se como sendo uma revisão integrativa da literatura de natureza básica do tipo descritivo e qualitativo. Muitos autores acreditam que o cigarro eletrônico seja capaz de substituir os cigarros convencionais gradativamente, visto que seus malefícios são menores. Entretanto, outros cientistas acreditam que seus malefícios são diversos e que sua potencial nocividade é desconhecida, pois não se conhece a fundo ainda seus reais efeitos sob longa exposição e sua complexa estrutura, principalmente devido às inúmeras possibilidades na fabricação dos e-líquidos. Diversos autores já alertam sobre os riscos ao pulmão, principalmente com relação a EVALI e suas manifestações, acreditando que os CE podem inclusive, levar usuários a morte. Sob o ponto de vista lesgislativo, sua comercialização e propaganda ainda são proibidos. Mais pesquisas são necessárias para que se possa entender a fundo sobre suas consequências, limites da constituição do e-líquido, características do usuário e padtões e políticas de uso.
