Horticultura Brasileira, Brasília, v. 19, n. 3, RESUMOVerificou-se a influência da maturidade do ramo no enraizamento, na brotação e no estabelecimento das mudas de guaco (Mikania glomerata Sprenguel). A partir de ramos selecionados conforme a consistência do tecido, foram preparados os tipos de estacas: lenhosas sem folhas com talão (TSF) e sem talão (LSF); semi-lenhosas sem folhas (SLSF) e com folhas (SLCF); herbáceas sem folhas (HSF) e com folhas (HCF) e herbáceas do tipo ponteiro sem folhas (PSF) e com folhas (PCF). Estes tratamentos foram submetidos ao delineamento de blocos casualizados (quatro repetições de 10 estacas por tratamento). Após 45 dias do plantio, as estacas foram avaliadas quanto à precocidade, pela ocorrência ou não de brotação e pela medida do comprimento da brotação mais longa. Aos 60 dias, as estacas foram reavaliadas quanto ao estabelecimento das mudas geradas, utilizando-se as características presença de brotação, medida do comprimento da brotação mais longa (cm), presença e localização de raízes adventícias e pesos da matéria seca da parte aérea e da raiz. A análise final considerou também a detecção visual da presença ou ausência de raízes pré-formadas; a avaliação da concentração de amido, através de visualização de intensidade de coloração (alta, média ou baixa) sob efeito do lugol (0,2%) e a presença de fenol, através de visualização de intensidade de coloração (alta, média ou baixa) sob efeito da solução aquosa de cloreto férrico (1%). Houve significativa influência da maturidade do ramo na formação de mudas de guaco. Os ramos semi-lenhosos com folhas mostraram-se ideais para o preparo de estacas, pois favorecem precocidade e estabelecimento.Palavras chave: Mikania glomerata, planta medicinal, estaquia.
