<p>O Instituto de Pesquisas Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro (JBRJ) completou recentemente 213 anos, sendo uma das instituições mais antigas do Brasil. Além de promover pesquisas e incentivar a Educação Ambiental, por meio do seu acervo, ele abriga uma grande diversidade de plantas nativas e introduzidas acumuladas desde os tempos do império. O JBRJ está na zona de amortecimento do Parque Nacional da Tijuca e apresenta diversos ambientes límnicos, propícios a presença de moluscos. O objetivo do presente estudo é apresentar um levantamento de moluscos límnicos do JBRJ. Foram amostrados 15 pontos de coleta, em distintos corpos hídricos, em 2009 e 2011, com um total de 60 minutos de esforço amostral em cada local de coleta. Com esse estudo, foram registradas nove espécies de gastrópodes:<em> Melanoides tuberculata </em>(Müller, 1774), <em>Pomacea insularum</em> (d’Orbigny, 1835), <em>Assiminea </em>sp., <em>Physa acuta </em>Draparnaud, 1805, <em>Steno</em><em>physa</em> <em>marmorata</em> (Guilding, 1828), <em>Pseudosuccinea columella </em>(Say, 1817), <em>Gundlachia ticaga</em> (Marcus & Marcus, 1962), <em>Ferrissia californica </em>(Rowell, 1863), <em>Biomphalaria tenagophila </em>(d'Orbigny, 1835); e uma espécie de bivalve: <em>Pisidium punctiferum </em>(Guppy, 1867). O JBRJ apresentou uma diversidade de dez espécies de moluscos de água doce e ampla distribuição de algumas espécies invasoras como <em>M. tuberculata</em>, <em>P. acuta </em>e<em> F. californica</em>, se configurando como um eficiente abrigo para algumas espécies. A presença de espécies de importância médico-veterinária como <em>M. tuberculata</em>, <em>B. tenagophila</em> e <em>P. columela</em> suscita algumas questões de saúde pública. Ressaltando o potencial do JBRJ na Educação Ambiental, podem ser desenvolvidas ações que enfatizem o papel dos moluscos e sua importância nos ecossistemas. </p><p><strong>Palavras chave</strong>: Conservação, moluscos de água doce, Mata Atlântica, espécies invasoras, Gastropoda, Bivalvia.</p>
