Introdução: As atitudes e os hábitos em direção ao estudo e à aprendizagem são um fator de suma importância na determinação do desempenho académico. Objetivo: Analisar a correlação entre atitude e hábitos de estudo com o desempenho académico em estudantes universitários. Metodologia: É uma pesquisa de corte quantitativo, transversal, correlacional e analítico, participaram 286 estudantes de maneira voluntária. Para medir as variáveis utilizaram-se o Inventario de hábitos de estudo e o Questionário de Avaliação de Atitudes ante a Aprendizagem em Estudantes Universitários. Os dados analisaram-se mediante o programa estatístico STATA v.11.1, realizaram-se provas de comparação de frequências (chi-quadrado), de correlação (r de Pearson) e análise de regressão logística. Resultados: Do total dos participantes (n=286), 75.8% foram do sexo feminino; 43.7% (n=125) tiveram alto rendimento académico, com média geral de 9 ou mais. A respeito dos hábitos de estudo, 66.4% (n=190) obtiveram pontuações na classificação de adequados, 25.2% (n=72) apresentaram atitudes positivas para o estudo; obteve-se uma associação altamente significativa (p=0.001,) entre hábitos e atitudes ante o estudo mediante uma prova de chi-quadrado. A correlação entre hábitos de estudo e atitudes para o estudo foi moderada, mas significativa (r=0.461, p<0.05); a análise de regressão logística, revelou associações positivas entre atitudes e rendimento académico. Conclusões: Este estudo demonstra que as atitudes e os hábitos de estudo, tem um forte impacto no desempenho académico.
Sr. Editor, La lactancia materna es fundamental por sus beneficios nutricionales, inmunológicos y neurológicos para la supervivencia infantil (1), las recomendaciones nacionales e internacionales señalan que los niños deben ser amamantados exclusivamente durante los primeros seis meses de vida (2); sin embargo, el año 2021 se confirmó en el Perú la disminución de la lactancia materna en niños menores de seis meses de edad (64%), siendo aún menor en el área urbana (58%) y en el quintil superior de riqueza (43,5%). En menores de seis meses de edad, la lactancia materna exclusiva durante el 2021 tuvo una mediana de 3,4 meses a nivel nacional, menor a lo reportado en el 2016 (4,1 meses), también se observó una disminución progresiva de la lactancia materna en el último quinquenio en las ciudades costeñas y urbanas que representan los ámbitos con menor duración de lactancia materna exclusiva (3). Esta realidad nos motivó a investigar si durante la pandemia por COVID-19 se incrementó la presencia de sucedáneos de la leche materna o fórmulas lácteas en el Perú, con la obtención de registros sanitarios para su comercialización, como una de las posibles causas de la disminución de la lactancia materna en el país.
Sr. Editor. El 26 de junio de 2020 se aprobó la Directiva Sanitaria para la implementación de la Práctica del Método Canguro en el Perú1, que busca contribuir a la disminución de la morbimortalidad del recién nacido prematuro y/o con bajo peso al nacer, representa un reto ya que todo recién nacido tiene derecho a una correcta nutrición que garantice su crecimiento y desarrollo adecuado, siendo importante realizar propuestas para mejorar la implementación del método del canguro y que se consolide en la práctica de los profesionales de salud del segundo y tercer nivel con atención neonatal de las Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud (IPRESS). En el Perú la prevalencia de niños con bajo peso al nacer (BPN) y de recién nacidos prematuros (RNPT), es de 7,3% y 22,6% respectivamente, la baja duración de lactancia materna exclusiva de solamente 3,7 meses, contribuye a la alta prevalencia de anemia en los primeros meses de vida, de 58,2% en los lactantes de 6 a 8 meses de edad 2; indicadores que se constituyen en problemas de salud pública que se viene combatiendo en el marco de los compromisos asumidos en los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible 3, con el fin de erradicar la problemática nutricional y contribuir a mejorar la salud materna, infantil y especialmente la neonatal. El RNPT es un neonato especial desde varios puntos de vista y en el aspecto nutricional plantea el desafío importante de aportar los requerimientos necesarios para su adecuado crecimiento. Poder asegurar una nutrición apropiada influye positivamente, tanto en el periodo neonatal como en la evolución en el curso de su vida, al disminuir ciertas alteraciones orgánicas o funcionales que pueden repercutir sobre su presente y futuro. Dentro de ese enfoque integral, uno de los hitos en la atención a neonatos a nivel de los servicios de salud, lo constituye el componente nutricional, siendo las ciencias de la nutrición importantes para vigilar el crecimiento de los recién nacidos prematuros y de bajo peso, a través de tratamientos adecuados y considera la alimentación basada en la leche de la madre la más apropiada en cuanto al aporte nutricional e inmunológico y también la más segura, y de no ser posible se aplica otras alternativas como el soporte de alimentación parenteral y enteral para lograr y mantener una velocidad de crecimiento adecuada en las primeras semanas de vida, lo cual implica un mejor neurodesarrollo y crecimiento posterior 1,4,5. En los componentes fundamentales del método canguro, la directiva sanitaria menciona la estrategia de alimentación y nutrición canguro, además del seguimiento ambulatorio estricto y cercano; y que tiene dos fases de implementación, intrahospitalario y extrahospitalario, sin embargo, en las condiciones básicas para la práctica del método canguro (del perfil del profesional) llama la atención que no considera la presencia del profesional nutricionista1, que tiene el perfil, las competencias y presencia en el ámbito de implementación del segundo y tercer nivel atención en las IPRESS 4. Nuestra propuesta se centra en que el nutricionista participe como parte del equipo multidisciplinario que atiende a esta población6, en las dos fases de la implementación, la evaluación y diagnóstico nutricional (que incluya composición corporal) de niños con BPN y RNPT, así como provisión de cuidados alimentarios, nutricionales y metabólicos, monitoreo y educación de los recién nacidos hospitalizados; con el objetivo de contribuir a la prevención, mantenimiento y/o recuperación de su estado de nutrición y salud 4. Es importante resaltar que tanto el Reglamento de Alimentación Infantil 5, la Norma Técnica de Salud para la Implementación, Funcionamiento y Promoción de Bancos de Leche Humana en el Perú7,8 y la Guía Técnica para la Consejería en Lactancia Materna 9, consideran al nutricionista como parte del equipo de salud que atiende dicha población. Así mismo la participación del nutricionista está normada en el documento de la consejería nutricional dirigido a las puérperas cuyo buen estado nutricional se debe asegurar mientras realizan la práctica del método canguro 10. Si bien la directiva sanitaria ya fue aprobada y está en vigencia, aún se requiere revisar a detalle y realizar las modificaciones necesarias para que, como se expresa en el mismo documento, se dé bajo un enfoque de atención integral, con especialistas idóneos y de humanización de la práctica de atención neonatal hospitalaria y su seguimiento en la comunidad, sea inclusiva con los profesionales de salud que fomentan la promoción y protección de lactancia materna en el Perú.
