The objective of this study was to explore the beliefs and attitudes toward menopause, depressive symptoms and sexual function in both premenopausal and postmenopausal Mexican women. The Beliefs about and Attitudes toward Menopause Questionnaire, the Female Sexual Function Index and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale were answered by 253 women between the ages of 46 and 59 years. Negative attitudes toward menopause were associated with a more depressive symptomatology, but there was no association between positive attitudes and depressive symptomatology. Among sexually active women (92% premenopausal and 70% postmenopausal), positive attitudes were associated with better sexual function, while negative attitudes were associated with worse sexual function. Our findings suggest that besides biological factors, psychosocial factors may also play an important role in middle-aged women's sexual functioning and in their psychological adjustment.
The support that couples provide to women during the climacteric is essential for a less complex transition. One of the factors that could influence is the knowledge they have about the physical, psychological and social manifestations, hence the importance of this study, from which it is based on a proposal about nursing educational intervention programs. Objective of this study: To analyze the correlation between the knowledge and support provided by couples of women during the climacteric. Methodology: Quantitative, correlational and transversal research. The sample includes 100 participants, a couple of women aged 45 to 59 years old. The instrument was a questionnaire validated by experts, where a reliability of .758 was obtained. The application was by google.doc (https://goo.gl/forms/xJykXtbxiFGNS5yq2). The results are: the level of knowledge among the couples of women was regular to deficient 82%; The level of support was 49% among deficient and regular. Significant statistical correlation was found (p≥0.05) with Chi2 test. Conclusion The level of knowledge is deficient in the couples of women during climacteric and only half of it, provide support, which supports nursing educational interventions

The sample consisted of 143 women aged 45 and 59 years, non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Two instruments were applied: Nola Pender's Lifestyle Profile (PEPS-I) and Blatt Kupperman's scale (IMK). The Project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. The data were analyzed with the SPSS Vs 25 program. Descriptive statistics and Spearman's rho were established. Results: Lifestyle was found to be regular in most of the participating women (91.2%), µ= 108.87±14.21 minimum of 76 and maximum of 147; regarding climacteric symptoms µ= 10.09±4.9 minimum of 0 and maximum of 23 was observed. A statistically significant correlation of the two study variables was obtained (Rho= p≤ 0.05).Conclusion: The women lifestyle during climacteric is regular and is related to lifestyle.
