Este capítulo detalla la relevancia clínica de realizar el diagnóstico molecular en el paciente con antecedente de anafilaxia secundaria a alimentos, látex y picadura de himenópteros. Se justifica la selección de plataformas de análisis múltiple, el diagnóstico molecular en anafilaxia agrega diagnóstico (estableciendo el agente causal), pronóstico (determinando el riesgo de gravedad), así como la reactividad cruzada potencial y el tratamiento. Queda fuera de los objetivos de esta guía el abordaje de anafilaxia secundaria a medicamentos.
