Introducción: El Ministerio de Educación, a fin de evitar la discriminación y la desigualdad de oportunidades tiene el difícil reto de proporcionar una cultura común a todos los estudiantes, respetando sus características y necesidades individuales para alcanzar una calidad educativa, lo que significa que la gestión escolar, el proceso de aprendizaje y de evaluación, conduce a la transformación de prácticas pedagógicas en atención a las necesidades educativas especiales. Objetivo: describir la importancia de la aplicación de las adaptaciones curriculares en estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales. Metodología: abarca el seguimiento al proceso de inclusión educativa difundido por Ministerio de Educación a través de la Subsecretaría de Educación Especializada Inclusiva y la Dirección Nacional de Educación Especial, contiene catorce ítems relacionados con discapacidad (física, visual e intelectual) síndrome de Down, hipoacusia, déficit de atención e hiperactividad, esclerosis y trastorno de conducta. Resultados: los ajustes curriculares permiten mejorar la calidad de la educación en concordancia con el progreso social y tecnológico, considerando la globalización y la sociedad del conocimiento, con sustento en los principios de igualdad, justicia, democracia, el aprendizaje mutuo y multidisciplinar. Conclusión: la diversidad en la formación es un pilar fundamental en el desarrollo de la personalidad. Área de estudio: necesidades educativas especiales.
