O milho (Zea mays L.) é acometido por uma infinidade de doenças, que na maioria das vezes são disseminadas pelas sementes, causando grandes danos e prejuízos na produção. Sendo assim, o tratamento de sementes é imprescindível para garantir uma boa produtividade com maiores rendimentos. Objetivou-se determinar os efeitos do Trichoderma harzianum na qualidade fisiológica do milho de três lotes cultivados por pequenos agricultores: Lote 1 do município de Sumé – PB, lote 2 do município de Monteiro - PB e lote 3 do município da Prata – PB. Todas as sementes foram submetidas a tratamento com Trichoderma harzianum em diferentes concentrações. Na testemunha, todos os testes foram feitos apenas com imersão em ADE. Nos tratamentos com Trichoderma harzianum, o biocontrolador foi aplicado diretamente nas sementes, assim como o fungicida. O delineamento utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado. Foram identificados nas sementes de milho oriundas dos municípios paraibanos os seguintes fungos: Aspergillus sp.; Aspergillus niger; Penicillium sp. e Fusarium sp. O uso de Trichoderma harzianum nas concentrações de 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350 e 400/100kg sementes na concentração de 1,0 x 1010 aplicado nas sementes de milho foram eficazes na redução de Aspergillus sp.; Aspergillus niger; Penicillium sp. e Fusarium sp. O Trichoderma harzianum não interferiu negativamente na qualidade fisiológica das sementes e proporcionou um aumento nos percentuais de germinação.
