et al. (1988). Con este fin, se realizó una aplicación piloto a 12 adultos mayores, la que mostró que era necesario realizar adaptaciones en el instrumento. Luego, se aplicó el instrumento adaptado a 76 adultos mayores de la Región Metropolitana, utilizando el programa SPSS para el análisis estadístico, el cual mostró que el comportamiento de los ítemes permitía aplicarla en su versión original. El análisis factorial de tipo exploratorio dio como resultado un modelo de dos factores, el cual es apoyado por la rotación oblicua y el análisis factorial confirmatorio. El apoyo social percibido no tuvo diferencias significativas por sexo, pero sí entre grupos de edad.
Los instrumentos de categorización de pacientes son útiles porque permiten asignar los profesionales y recursos materiales de acuerdo con el perfil real de los pacientes. El objetivo del presente estudio es adecuar y validar el instrumento “Categorización de usuarios según dependencia y riesgo de cuidados” (CUDYR) en hemodiálisis crónica (HDC). El instrumento para pacientes en HDC se denominó “CUDYR-DIAL” y quedó constituido por dos subescalas y catorce ítems. La muestra estuvo conformada por 150 pacientes seleccionados en forma estratificada y al azar de cinco unidades de diálisis, a los que se les aplicó un total de 620 veces el CUDYR-DIAL. Se encontró que todos los ítems muestran correlaciones significativas (> 0,3) con el puntaje total obtenido en la escala, y que la confiabilidad de la escala se mantiene estable al ir eliminando uno a uno los ítems, fluctuando entre 0,86 y 0,87. La confiabilidad total del instrumento muestra un alfa de Cronbach de 0,878. Los usuarios en HDC presentan cuatro perfiles de dependencia (parcial a total) y riesgo (mediano a alto). Se concluye que el instrumento CUDYR-DIAL presenta una buena confiabilidad y constituye un aporte para la categorización de pacientes en HDC según dependencia y riesgo.
Estudio descriptivo, transversal, que pretende evaluar la opinión de una población de enfermeras (os) sobre la calidad del Manual de Autocuidado "Aprendiendo a vivir con hemodiálisis" y conocer las características de las actividades educativas realizadas utilizando este Manual como medio instruccional. El instrumento utilizado corresponde a una pauta de evaluación de texto, adaptada de Vergara, Rodríguez y Rittershaussen (1996), la que se aplicó a una muestra al azar, no-probabilística, de 85 enfermeras (os). La validación estadística del instrumento mostró un Alpha de Crombach de 0.65. Los resultados muestran que los tres aspectos evaluados, formato, contenido y aspectos instruccionales, son valorados como ade-cuados por más del 90% de los evaluadores. Entre los aspectos que se sugiere mejorar destacan la legibilidad, incorporar estrategias para motivar el aprendizaje en los pacientes e indicar más claramente como utilizar el Manual. El 48,2% de las enfermeras (os) había realizado actividades educativas utilizando el Manual, la mayoría de ellas eran lectura y discusión de los temas durante la sesión de hemodiálisis.
